I'm working on getting my gear and I'm new... so...

For a huge majority of the divers, something like suunto zoop will be quite enough for their whole diving career. IMHO Rsingler, does someone still buy something else than wrist mounted computers?

    GUE and Sidemount position ?

Could be, I haven't much experience with that. I had two dives in Malta with a guide who used sidemount and it looked very smooth and comfortable going. Though he was the only one on boat with the sidemount setup.

    GUE and Sidemount position ?

I am curious about why not? Granted, I don't dive sidemount myself but for the life of me I can't figure out why backmounted cylinder would be superior for "normal" dives.

    Experiences with flex-arm.com products?

Thanks for the replies, now I am cosnidering ball joints, one of the lights is quite heavy and since they're of different weights, flex arms might act funny. Underwater Tray With Handles with Ball Joint and clamp Light Mount

    Experiences with flex-arm.com products?

I've been looking a set up for gopro and tovatec fusion 1000 torch ( Fusion 1000 - Tovatec ). I found this site Home Page which sells a lot of different trays, arms and so forth. My torch doesn't have a fiixed mount so I am thinking of either using an universal adapter Underwater Tray With...

New Divers - You are NOT ALONE!

I am a new diver and I only dive on holidays maybe two times a year. I had a 12 month break recently but I made a lot of progress during that time by reading scubaboard and various articles about boyancy and trim. I can implement what I read to practice quite easily, so forums like these are...

    Dive freedom == no wetsuit?

In January I'll go to Thailand, I can't wait to try diving in a rashguard and shorts! Since I only use 2-3kg with 3mm full suit, I recon I'll not need weight belt at all :)

99 Problems..... and your TRIM is one!

Good read, thanks. ^^I would think that once one starts tech diving, trim and boyancy should not be issues.

    Advanced Open Water Certification

If so, then the whole concept of certified depth is meaningless. Be as it may, I specified deep diving course in addition to AWOD, I guess I should say trained to 40m then.

    Advanced Open Water Certification

^^AOW diver isn't certified for anything except 30 meters of depth. Adventure dives do not count as certifications (talking about padi here). Personally I will do AWOD and deep diver so that the divecenter I use can "legally" take me to places up to 40m deep and because in some countries, like...

Diver drowns in guided cenote dive

That is true, I had only few dives before the definite rule was broken just as you described. Then again, I understand the point of the rule, even if I broke the literal definition. Swimming through a small overhead is not the same as going in to a cave or deep in to a wreck. Anyone with a...

    Buying my first wetsuit

I am fine with 3mm suit in Malta where water was 22c below thermocline (26c above) but my wife got cold with same suit. Then again, I did my OWD in 7+5, wetsuit in waters down to 6c and that was fine too, so you never know :)
