    Crabbing and Diving

I dive wet. So what will the warden say if I hand him a clump of pulp that was once a license or record card. Wouldnt it be fine to say follow me over here to my vehicle and I'll pull it out and show him the record? I've never been for crab since I dont care for it so I'm not aware of the rules...

OK, 'fess up.... the Dark Side of Solo...

Or classes taken through the dive shop; I'll second that. My absolute worst dives have been with other people who have no business being in the water, to the point of putting their own life in danger and mine aswell. Not to say that there arent good buddies out there, because I am one when...

    Washington Pacific Coast Diving?

My uncle Steve has dove the coast for years.. Oregon coast that is. And he's been diving longer than I've been alive. He has the benefit of owning a zodiak.. which makes for an excellent dive boat. From what he tells me, diving off the Oregon coast is some of the best diving around, in cold...

Need Help On My Assignment - P.S. Charter to Simi-Deep Wrecks

Northwest Dive News had an article on that wreck this month. The depths were from 70 to 140ft. From what it sounded like, the Dimond Knot would be an excellent dive, depending on the vis. To my knowledge, wrecks are sparse in the seattle area, the best are in the Vancouver area.

    Mundane Mukilteo

that's what has given me just over an hour on an AL80 :D , and there's more to see in the shallows than in the deep abyss.

Time for another Orca Bait dive?

Got a suit, and would be able to do the 22nd at Keystone. Looks like a late morning dive sometime before 12:00 or 1:00 I'll stay tuned

Time for another Orca Bait dive?

Keystone would be great, if I can get my drysuit soon enough. I'm expecting my tax return this week, and if it does come, I plan to be in the water asap. If I have it, I'm up for anyting but Edmonds, Alki and anyting south. But Keystone would be pick of the crop for me.. since I've never been there.

    Drysuit Opinion

too late for a trilam suit, I've committed myself to an Apollo. The "grand" + total came to $1030.61 as opposed to full price of $1415.69 a decient savings I think. AND Randy is going to give me a drysuit hood, provided I give him my old wetsuit one... fine with me, I can hardly wait to get in...

    Hunting in Washington

I wanted to keep this specific to WA since that's where I'm at, and I have a couple of questions since I'm a noob at this. I'm curious to know what ya'll hunt in the area, and what you use to bag the kill. Is it better to use a speargun or a triton? both of which I have no idea how to use...

    Calling All Zeagle Owners

"Mozz, maybe if you could tell us what you're after" That would help, but I dove rented gear for my ow and waited for the divers fair to purchase my own. I went with a Zeagle Stiletto, and to quote joel3739 "and do not regret my decision what-so-ever. The versatility and adaptability are...

How do I get it to take a pic quicker?

Good point on the red eye Paul. I didn't think of that. I don't know that you'll ever do away with the lag in response, that's just the nature of a point and shoot, and that's why I have a slr, for speed.

    advice needed- gear and reading

One more sugestion... get yourself a custom mouthpiece. After 30 or 50 min in the water, and on the second dive... it can give you a headache as it did me. It's way more comfortable and relaxing. A little steep on price tho, but in my opinion it's $$ well spent.

    Drysuit Opinion

Well. I think I'm going to go with an apollo since there on sale atm for 950. I know it will keep me warm, and I know it will last me a few years. Thanks again for all the advice.

How many dives did you have?

Dive 5 if you count the OW cert since no one else wanted to dive.. it was with the basic rental gear in a place where I never dove before. After I baught the gear, my advanced class sucked so much it drove me to do a solo dive at a very fimilar place.. it was one of my best dives. No extra air...

    Drysuit Opinion

with the amout of dive gear I have that's all sopin wet after I get out of the pool, I'm glad I have a pickup and not a bucket and a tarp in the back of a hatchback. :D
  20. Jeff=Dive

How do I get it to take a pic quicker?

That entirely depends on the camera, and also the amout of light. If there is lots of light, then you can have a lower ISO to have richer color in the shot.. but still maintain a fast shutter speed.. anything faster than 1/100th. If there is little light, and you want to keep the shutter speed...
