PROBLEM:
So my Sola 1200's finally would not hold a charge. I would not go through the gamit of strobing red to orange to yellow to green. It mostly just flashed green for a minute or two and then went solid green...even after I fully discharged it.
I have nursed them for a few years now...
Thanks Captain Obvious, but even items in checked bags carry a risk of confiscation.
I like your "leave at home" advice the best.
Captain Practical says: "Don't pay $70 round trip for checked bags to prevent $10 worth of tools from being confiscated."
The surprise to me was that...
Which is why I said "You can't fight city hall".
And that is also why I have a few backup plans to legally achieve what I need (none of which call for me to "educate" the agent).
The agent always has the discretion to be more "thorough", says my TSA friend.
Arguing (and you may not...
Q: "Why would anyone put tools in their carryon bags?"
A: Because they don't have any checked bags.
For short trips of 1-2 weeks in the warm Carribean, my wife and I have learned to pack light...really light.
We save a lot on not incurring baggage fees. If we need something, we buy it.
We take...
You know, I never got an answer to my question on whether I can upgrade my Zuma 22 lb bladder to a 34 lb bladder. The answers sort of took a sidetrack around the question.
If an upgrade is possible, what is an ESTIMATE of the cost?
I find similar annoyances but under different circumstances.
1) Won't Sync - If I don't pre-synch it ( enter dive mode on computer and turn on tank before diving) it won't synch and says FAIL.
I am suspicious that someone on the boat may be using a similar computer on...
Regarding the TUSA Hyflex Switch fins...
I was going to upgrade my fins with a set of spring-straps, for around $40.
I also saw a friend's video of me showinmy current fins bending quite a bit when under force.
I liked the idea of a fin that could be brkendown for travel, but had a hard time...
I once thought the same thing, regarding " some sort of disconnect between the blade and foot pocket."
However, I tired the TUSA Hyflex Switch fins and even though they have " some sort of disconnect between the blade and foot pocket." while travelling, when assembled they are as solid as any...
As a follow-up to my previous post:
1) I have been using the DGX adapter with my substitute O-Ring for about 50+ dives without issue of
a) Air leaking
b) Breathing issues
c) ability to disconnect hose when pressurized without any air leaks
2) The O-Ring has
a) ID = (just got...
We did it both ways: Our BCD and the Vitim's BCD.
The presumption when using our BCD was to simulate that the Victim had run out of air.
No air, no BCD inflation with the victim...thus we would have to use ours.
Thanks for reconfirming that dropping weights might be risky.
QUESTION: Can I upgrade my Zuma SM/MD 22lbs lift BCD's bladder to a MD/LG 34lb bladder?
BACKGROUND:
I have a Zuma BCD size SM/MD w/ 22 lbs lift.
This past week while trying to bring up a large 'simulated unresponsive' diver in my PADI Rescue Diver class, I was unable to do so. My bladder...
UPDATE:
Ebay
1) Ebay denied my claim, due to the Seller's claim that, because I tool the compass out of the boot to inspect it, I had disassembled it.
2) I appealed - I explained that the boot was like a 3rd party case for a cell phone; if you take the phone out of the case, it is not...
I don't consider my self a veteran diver yet and don't have hundreds of dives under my belt.
Unfortunately, on every (50-75) charter dives I've done (charter meaning the group dives offered by the Diveshop), none of the divemasters even discussed 'buddies' in the briefings nor assigned or...
Thanks.
While a PID controller typically applies to a closed loop system, with proper choices of coefficients, it can sometimes be used to model an open loop system.
The fluid (not necessarily oil) is also is used to prevent freezing of a compass.
Albeit, this may not apply to scuba compasses in temperate waters.
(Maybe it applies to ice diving, but since I have no experience in that area, I cannot speak to that issue.)
I had understood that older...
Already did. Need to wait a week and see if the seller responds.
I'm not too worried...just disappointed I didn't get a 'cool' vintage compass that worked.
