    Wetsuit for Galapagos diving

I was diving in Fourth Element Proteus ii (5mm full wetsuit) + 7mm hood + gloves on liveaboard in Oct 2017 there. This suit is comparable to 7mm wet suits from other brands. It was a bit chilly on second dives. I highly recommend to take some extra which you can wear as a underlayer.

San Cristobal - Where to Stay & What to Do

I stayed in San Cristobal overnight only so didn't have chance to explore it all. Hired a taxi to go inland. Visited tortoise habitat. It was ok experience which was easily surpassed by Tortoise Reserve on Santa Cruz were we stopped during liveaboard. Also visited Puerto Chino . Nice beach with...

    Preparing for Galapagos/Socorro

You will be doing negative entries if diving at Darwin/Wolf sites in Galapagos. Sometimes currents are strong and its required to get deep asap so practicing negative entries certainly helps. Also you will be using zodiacs/pangas (inflatable boats) for diving. Practice to remove your bcd/bpwing...

    Recommendations around Cairns

Daintree and Cape Tribulation are nice areas to visit. Check weather for rain etc when going there as some roads can be flooded. I stayed in Port Douglas and 1-day trip was enough to go Daintree/Cape Tribulation and back.

    Another Ear Question. Help

He said that I had some sort of barotrauma which resulted in loss of hearing (almost 90%) in higher frequencies and caused tinnitus in my right ear. At this point nothing can be done in my case - i.e. surgeries / medications will not help. I just have to live with it now. Yes I still dive and i...

    Another Ear Question. Help

@DustanLtye , I would recommend seeing ENT Dr ASAP and perhaps taking antibiotics or even hormones meds if he/she advises to do so. I had the same issue with my right ear (harder equalization etc) and finally after one of the dives I experienced similar symptoms described by you. I thought that...

Early June Galapagos liveaboard - expected air temps?

I spent a week in Galapagos diving on Humboldt Explorer in Sep 2017. Warm showers on the deck and hot beverages do help to warm up after dives. I was diving in 5mm wetsuit /gloves/boots + 7mm hood. Most were diving with 5-7mm wetsuits and only few with dry-suits. I was wearing shorts/t-shirt...

Vanuatu and New Caledonia vs Polynesia

I didn't dive in Vanuatu but was fortunate to see Mt Yasur Volcano in Tanna. It was spectacular especially after sunset. If you end up going there make sure to take into consideration rainy weather/ amount of time spent in Tanna. We made to Volcano on 2nd attempt only (on the 2nd day) 1st day...

PLBs and Nautilus Lifeline in Fiji

Visited Fiji few years ago. Didn't carry any PLBs or radio transmitters with us so no help here. Don't recall any warning from travel agent regarding potential issues at customs with radio/cell devices.

People who bought a BP/W before trying one, were you happy with your decision?

Thank you for your recommendations, @cool_hardware52 !! ! I'll certainly try to do it next time. BTW I'm using a long-hose routing setup (7feet) and a short hose on the necklace. By "donning in reverse" you mean that I have to "dive into" the BP/W straps if I want to put it on?
