Actually I thought about that and ended up drilling several subtle holes in the pipes and bottles since I knew the kids would want to "breathe" in them like mon and dad. So they should have a fresh air supply even if they use the mouthpieces.
For those wondering..... The "wetsuits" are just stretchy girl's clothes. My wife had to alter the pants cuz they were flared at the bottom. She also painted the DD flag on the fronts. The gear/backpacks are two 2-liter soda bottles, connected to PVC pipe and the knob/gauge in the middle is...
A few weeks ago I asked for ideas of how to piece together SCUBA costumes for my two boys (4 & 8). The 4 year old won a prize for most original at his halloween party.

I found out about it last night (in Dive Training magazine), and my wife and I are thinking of coming down maybe for Saturday. If any other SB members are planning on attending, let me know, maybe we can catch up. I don't think we will have time to do any diving though.
Looks like they are evacuating the Keys ahead of Wilma's arrival.
Officials ordered non-residents in the Florida Keys to evacuate Wednesday in advance of Hurricane Wilma, a dangerous Category 5 storm that's days away from its projected landfall near the island chain...
I'm in Florida, and what PerroneFord said was right on the money. Everyone is different. I bought a 3mm full suit and a 3mm shorty and plan on using those for all my dives. I can tolerate the 68 degree water of the springs in just the 3mm full, but my wife needs both pieces. As for diving in...
Are you still looking for a dessert? My wife is pretty creative with cakes, and she was going to do either a hammerhead shark or a scuba diver for our son's 5th birthday next month. She could make something like that if it's ok. Maybe we will dive after lunch for a while and catch up with...
Hey guys, I just saw the message over on the Florida boards. My wife and I might be interested in coming over for the day one day, but I was wondering if anyone had condensed all of the details in this thread. My ADD prevents me from reading and absorbing everything at once :D. What exactly is...
Hey guys
Jumping in here, I am 6'-3" and hovering between 300 and 310 lbs. I got a Zeagle Brigade from Larry at Scubatoys, he hooked me up with 3x waist on XL shoulders. Fits great. I bought my wetsuit custom made from Liquidfit, it was expensive but so worth it compared to cramming into...
Scubaboard helped me to settle on buying the Zeagle Brigade, by virtue of Scott and Larry's participation here. I knew I could get quick technical support on it.
I don't have a full set of gear yet, but so far I am most happy with my Liquidfit wetsuit. Kept me much warmer than the rental shop junk, and fits like a glove (no pun intended)
Yeah I think the fisherman on Pensacola Pier might be miffed when you start tangling their lines. Navarre pier is just over the bridge to Navarre (Take US 98 through Gulf Breeze to Navarre to FL 393, cross over Intercoastal, take 1st right (I think road turns right here) and pier and parking...
That plate is sweet!! I gotta get it. Much better than that "peach" in the state silhouette. I was always lukewarm on the "Save our Reefs" plate they offered, but this one is much better. I like the divers in the background
I don't think anyone answered this question for you. Snuba is a combination of snorkeling and SCUBA by which you dive using an air supply on the surface connected to a long reguator.

One thing you may want to consider are the yellow weight pouches to help contain your weights inside the pockets. I got a set and it works great, and lets me mix and match the smaller weights inside the pouch.
Other than that it seems like the release system is pretty tight. There is a...
OK but what weapon would you suggest for a rampaging Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) with a tank caught in his teeth? Assuming you are NOT floating by Cable Junction.
The Living Seas exhibit is closed to visitors but I am sure that they are still scheduling divers to go into the pool there. Last time I checked they were taking reservations and I think there was a recent post about it on the Conch Divers board.
Note: My wife and I want to do it too, but...
