    Islamorada/ Key Largo recommendation

We just booked with Key Dives for a few dives 6/13-6/16. Went with Rainbow Reef last year and couldn't find a complaint if I tried. Just trying different Keys and different Dive Ops this year.

    Key Largo dive trip

This has definitely changed - TONS of fish life. Remarkably, I didn't see a single lionfish over 6 dives either.

    Key Largo dive trip

This was my first time diving in the Keys so I don't have any history to compare it to but.... Overall I enjoyed all of the dives and dive sites. We did the Benwood, Duane, and Spiegel Grove wrecks, as well as Five Caves. If you like looking at fish the diving was AMAZING!!!!! If you like...

    Key Largo dive trip

Just got back from Key Largo a week and a 1/2 ago. Dove with Rainbow Reef for 3 days. All boats were running, some AOW check-out dives were cancelled due to high currents at the intended site, but all rec dives were a go.

    Key Largo April Diving

Thank you. For the most part their reviews are really good. I only know 1 person that used them and he was very happy with his experience. This our decision to use them for this trip.

    Key Largo April Diving

We’re good on that front. Both of us are AOW and Nitrox certified. We are slated to do both the SG and Duane. Good info on the barnacles/razor clams. Some gloves may have to find their way in to our dive bag.

    Key Largo April Diving

We're heading to Key Largo for a few days of diving with Rainbow Reef next month. I've never been to the Keys so obviously have never dove there. Anything I should be aware of, any advice, tips, or recommendations?

    Concern for Other Divers Safety

Love Negril diving. Shallow plane is a nice site as well. You did what you were trained to do - look out for your buddy. While he may not have been your primary, or intended buddy for the day, you saw someone that lacked the skills you worked hard to learn and were willing to take time away...

    Found camera Texas

Found this post on Facebook and thought I’d share here. Post has pics of potential owners. Definitely not Texas diving. Mike Ley 545EFE5B-13CA-44D7-83DC-39242651D3DB by Scuba-Blue-13 posted Apr 21, 2020 at 10:13 PM EF07F0F8-3A30-405B-A81E-685A29941794 by Scuba-Blue-13 posted Apr 21, 2020...

    Most Important Accessories?

So if you were going to recommend vital accessories to a new diver, what would be on that list? I have my "kit" including BCD, Reg set, mask, fins, snorkel, & computer. I've added a compass on a retractor to attach to my BCD. What's next that every diver should have on a dive? What should be...

    Basic Dive Equiptment - Aqualung

Having just completed the 'Hunt For First Gear' expedition myself I can relate to a lot of this. The package deals are certainly convenient, and make it very easy to get everything at once, and ensure they're all the same brand/color, but they're not usually the best deal you can get. I picked...

    Biggest thing killing dive shops?

Honestly, I would have probably bought from him. I do prefer to shop local when I can and support "small business" as often as possible. Buying it in my LDS would ensure I have someone local that is familiar with the particular brand of equipment, is close by in the event of an issue, can...

    Cold Water??

Here's my amateur newbie question of the day: I'm in the market for my first regulator. I see comments about regs being cold water regs vs not. What I can't find is "What is considered cold water?". Most of my diving is definitively warm water > 70 degrees. With occasional quarry diving ~ 50...

    Biggest thing killing dive shops?

I will say we have 1 shop nearby that addresses this and the social aspect. They have what they call "Bubbles and Beers" once a month. They rent time at a local school's pool and for $10 you get a tank of air and weights and can dive in the pool to test new equipment, or just to get wet. I...

    Biggest thing killing dive shops?

But this just reinforces my opinion. I tell the dive shop I'm on a budget and even express my opinion about 2 other shops immediately offering me $750 set-ups and they IMMEDIATELY offer me a $700 set-up after telling me I'm right I don't need a $750 set. Instead of trying to make a bunch of...

    Biggest thing killing dive shops?

While I COMPLETELY understand the "Don't buy it twice" mentality (keeping salt water aquariums for any length of time will teach you that) I'd prefer to have the OPTION of purchasing a "cheaper" model to start with. Every store I go in says "this is what you need" without actually listening to...
