    Worth Freezing Your Butt Off?

Trace is so hardcore. I heard that he glacier dives in a rash guard.

Why not SPG under the left arm to left Chest D ring?

do you carry a spare spg for your mechanical spg? If your mechanical spg fails it’s the same situation - you only have one. Like you explained above if you plan appropriately you have enough gas to get out

Why not SPG under the left arm to left Chest D ring?

Just get a perdix AI and this whole conversation is moot :yeahbaby: They are as reliable as a mechanical spg. And if it fails dive is over, just like if the spg failed.

Why not SPG under the left arm to left Chest D ring?

What type of diving is this for? Low risk and recreational diving you can do whatever you want. More demanding diving, I can't imagine wanting to clip my spg to my L chest d ring when I already have a back up light, a corrugated hose in that area, and 2 deco bottles all clipped/around there. The...

    BM vs SM weighting discrepancies

Reviewing some of the posts you’ve made recently, you should consider paying for a day of coaching from a tech instructor. They will help you sort out a lot of the trim and weighting issues so much faster and save a lot of frustration. Can you do it all on your own? Yes and I’m sure you’re...

    Suitable wetsuit

You southern boys are babies. I was diving in 81 degrees 5x a day for a week in just a rash guard. Felt like bathwater. Anything in the 70’s 3mm is fine and as it gets to lower and mid 70’s add gloves and hood. The quality of the wet suit and the fit matter so much for this though. Crap...

Purely theoretical question about hypoxic gasses

You can absolutely test breathe a hypoxic mix. You just can't be walking around breathing it and shouldn't breathe it for more than a couple breaths. Have to be careful but literally taking two breaths off a regulator while sitting comfortably to test it will not make you pass out.

    100m dive

If you go back to the originally question though when people were asking about "why not 80%," if you don't believe in carrying 100% with single bottle deco and are okay with 50%, where do you draw the line? Why not 80%? Why not 40%? Why not 60%? You can make any of those work with single bottle...

    100m dive

you're right i just ran the profiles myself. My bad it would be a big difference in MG. However it estimates you would need 44 cuft of 50% if you're doing that profile so a normal alum 40 isn't going to work for a team. I guess if you're willing to carry an 80 instead you could make it work. I...

    100m dive

That’s true since your bottle is at 20ft, but I still don’t like the idea of having no O2 available at all for the dive. “Dramatically increase” is relative because for sub 150 and sub 30 minutes you don’t really have significantly long stops before 20 feet. The MG really wouldn’t be that much...

    100m dive

you're using 50% instead of 100% for dives sub 150 feet? Stroke crap :p I like 100% for a variety of reasons. For sub 150 feet, needing to jump onto deco gas quicker because of loss of back gas shouldn't be an issue. #1 the chances of literally losing all back gas should be almost impossible...

    Doubles In Bonaire?

if your goal is to dive your face off, I wouldn't go with doubles. As stated above, the nice part about bonaire is having tanks on demand, unlimited, without any wait. If you dive doubles, you'll have to wait for fills and only be able to get them when someone is there during business hours to...

    Bonaire/Buddy Dive Review

Just got back from Bonaire. What an amazing island and trip! Bonaire: There are so many threads on travel here I'll try to keep it short and answer some of the questions I had before I went. I had no issues with crime at all, although I didn't see a strong police presence there. I think...

    Hilma Hooker Wreck Video

Just got back from my trip to Bonaire and threw together a little video of my time spent on the Hilma Hooker wreck. I'm by no means a videographer so don't expect something amazing. Wreck was awesome, accessible by shore, has some light swim through/penetration opportunity, and has an...

It’s a really interesting paper. They say we really don’t have definitive information on where the cut off will be for time to cause toxicity. however they do repeatedly state that time is a major factor and a big concern for risk of convulsion. It mentions we have poor human studies and some...
