I had a very disturbing incident happen while I was diving the GBR. I don’t think it was the bends. But I really looked at everything in relation to diving. However after getting off the boat, 1 day after, I was overcome with the most unbelievable rocking and bobbing, visual disturbance, and I...
You may be sent to do some vestibular testing, and have an audiologist test your hearing as well. Your vestibular system and hearing is nothing to take lightly.
Final post. Now, from learning that what this nightmare diagnosis of Mal de Debarqment is, from neurologist. I can unequivocally say that I will never get on a boat, dock, or go diving again. It would be very irresponsible of me, to my health, and others. It can go into remission, not there yet...
No, I wore no patch. I did take kwells, in the office before boarding, and then right after vomiting in front of everyone during orientation. This was the only time I got sick. Was pretty solid, till right before the bad dive. Felt a little queasy, took Dramamine right before I jumped in the...
Thanks, all good advice! I am still struggling with symptoms and its 2.5 months out. The really bad motion sickness and nausea lasted a month. After that it's been visual. Except driving a car...there I feel great! For a while it was the only relief.

I'm just posting a final follow up. Mainly because if you read these threads later, I always want to know how it ended.
It is 2 months later, and I would say 98% if not all symptoms have resolved. It certainly took its sweet time. It was a slow gradual progression. From severe rocking and...

When I was last at the ENT, I thought the same thing about sinuses. He stuck the camera in there. I hated it.
Saw nothing.
2nd day back, I went to GP. He said he had a difficult time looking at me, that I was so sick. But thought it was ears, too. I didn't know...all I wanted was for it to...
The motion sickness hit me at the airport while I was getting my tax refund. I just didn't feel so well, in the morning. Then standing in line, I got that rush of heat, and the room started rocking. It stayed with me till the plane started moving. Then returned at layover, and at home.
I could...
I only tested the air for fo
No I didn't know that testing for co2 was a thing. :( And wouldn't the other divers also have had the same bad air? It was a live aboard. I only felt a little nausea before the dive. The nausea really hit at home. Days after diving. I have had very little...
These two threads were from my post of "GBR near miss for this novice diver", on Accidents near misses forum. it was recommended that I post here, as someone might have some insight for me.
So, I am just posting a follow up, of how I have been. And a request for some possible feedback.
So part of the story I did relay, because at the time, I didn't see it as relevant. was in crossing the coral sea. The crossing was rough. Tossing you in the air on your bed, eventually I put my...
