How to Replace Backplate Harness Webbing

I'm assuming you're talking about the orange polyester webbing deep 6 offers? Polyester webbing is generally softer and more pliable than nylon webbing, but what makes "scuba" nylon webbing so stiff is that it is often impregnated with resin to make it more resistant to water an abrasion, which...

    Scuba dry training

You could sit with your kit on and practice finding things by touch/memory. Visualization is also a pretty good strategy for improving your buoyancy and breathing rate.

How did you add a chest strap to one piece webbing harness?

My first chest strap was just some 1 inch webbing and plastic slide adjusters/buckle from hobby lobby. Just run the webbing through the slide (or 1 inch triglide), loop it around the webbing, and run it back through the slide. I sewed the non-adjustable side of the plastic buckle in for that...

7mm neck tear - 2" chunk - sew or glue?

Are you using aquaseal FD or Neo? This is a job for aquaseal Neo contact cement, which bonds neoprene rubber together like it was never torn. Put a very light coat on the mating face of both surfaces, let dry for about 10-15 minutes, then repeat. For the third coat, let it dry for about 5...

Anyone Using The Zeagle Covert XT?

As doctor rig said, the sizing is odd. I sized mine based on the original covert, and it seems like zeagle didn't account for the additional sizing of the molle webbing, so it can't be snugged up on my waist tight enough. It's nice having the attachment points, but I switched to a BP&W shortly...

    Dive reports with beach/weather conditions

I'm sure we could debate this until our fingers bleed, but that's not the appropriate use of this thread for reporting dive conditions.

    Dive reports with beach/weather conditions

Except many experts now believe nutrient rich runoff plays a significant role in assisting k. brevis in expanding during a bloom's time inshore.

    I swim like a U. Why?

I'm going to suggest that the opposite may be true and that he's already too bottom heavy. He's comfortable and horizontal while under propulsion, but when he stops he needs to curl his legs up behind him in order to remain comfortable in a horizontal position, which is shifting his center of...

    Withdrawal is setting in

Was 54F yesterday when I shore dived in Beaufort, NC. The inshore water warmed up from 50F two weeks ago thanks to the warm weather and offshore wind we've had for that two week period. Was 61F offshore last weekend at a couple of wrecks.

I'll be driving down there Monday, definitely want to get to Blue Heron Bridge on Tuesday afternoon around 1430 to make high tide, but I'd like to do some beach diving both Tuesday and Wednesday morning to some close in reefs and or ledges with my gopro. I'll be heading to the opposite coast...
