We have been to Curaçao a number of times and stayed at Coral Estates. I know that’s not what you’re asking about but, good accommodations and 3 restaurants on site. Dive shop with a DM and it will be super easy shore diving. Find a buddy or use a DM.

Your 5 dives in. Relax and enjoy your dives. Take the pressure off yourself. Buoyancy - Trim - Propultion are not something you know and understand at this point.

What would you consider to be "Special Problems and Solutions"? As a sidemount diver in open water - vs - Sidemount diver in a cave - vs - sidemount diver in a wreck. The Special Problems list will be different.

There is a documentary - Ancient Caves that is out. It might be hard to find a place to view it though. I saw it in 3D - although I believe it wasn't filmed in 3D, but instead converted into a 3D film. Will give you a very realistic view of Bahama caves.

The travel costs from Calgary to Tokyo, Tokyo Bangkok, Bangkok 6 hour bus ride to Chumphon, speed boat to Koh Tao, and then return home, will be a significant cost for a month long trip. The additional cost to be diving from a speed boat will become rather insignificant in comparison.

Sometimes I wonder why I comment on this site. I offered a name of a great company that offers the option to take a faster boat and I’m criticized for it.

And neither is what dive shop or boat size I prefer.

I understand. We have been there on Koh Tao for a month, diving with Goodtime Adventures. And I much prefer a speed boat. You get there much faster that the old big fishing boats others shops prefer to own with 30+ divers on them. You ride on the big old slow overcrowded boats, I will be on the...

They have speed boats. Get you out quicker.
