California Beach Diver looking to relocate

I too am looking to get out of California. SCUBA is a part of my stratagy in locating a new place to live. Since we are already used to the cold water and giant kelp here in CA, I am looking at the Pacific NW (Puget Sound area). It offers: World Class Beautiful Diving, Low cost of living (as...

Looking for insight on diving in St. Thomas

I went diving in St. Thomas 2 years ago and used Blue Island Divers. They were absolutly great. They have kept in contact with me over the last two years and have been able to answer lots of USVI questions for me. Here is a link to their site: http://www.blueislanddivers.com/

    Questions regarding Pt. Lobos

I loved the California Divers News site at http://www.garlic.com/~triblet/swell/CDNDiveSites.html Great resource. Thanks. I didn't know about it. I still think that Bruce Watkins does a better job of explaining the difficulty of entry and exit in his book than he did in the artical, but I will...

    Need Advice

Welcome to Nor Cal diving! Everything you have heard here so far I agree with. Monterey and Carmel are probably your best beginning spots. (Check out A Divers Guide to Montery and A Divers Guide to Nothern California by Bruce Watkins). You should be able to find them in any local dive shop...

    Questions regarding Pt. Lobos

I would not recommend diving monestary at night unless you have already familar with it during the day. It is an advanced dive site, the beach sand is more like very small pebels giving you very unsure footing. The shoreline is very steep. Entry and exit are difficult even in the best of conditions.

Lost snorkel and mask at Breakwater 9-10-06

I would like to thank Chuck. I have seen MOF/NMOF all over this board and had no idea what it meant. I knew if I was just patient, the meaning would eventually surface. :crafty:
