    Dive Rite LX 20 diffuser

Anyone have any experience with this light and the diffuser that Dive Rite says is designed to fit it? I find the light very loose. It falls off as soon as I put it on the light. Maybe an o-ring in there will help? Any ideas?

    ScubaBoard SURGE 2020 Sponsors

I won a $25 Stream2Sea gift certificate at the ScubaBoard 2020 Surge at LCBR. Thank you Stream2Sea!! Thank you to all of the sponsors big and small. Huge thank you to Roxanne and Dennis for pulling this off. I will definitely be back for more. And an almost-as-huge thank you to the dive...

Packing, Travel, and Diving Tips for the SB SURGE to Little Cayman

So I made the cutoff, which is good. Leaving my Apeks regs at home because they're DIN and the adapter and long hose add extra weight. Diving my i3 BC instead of the BP/W also, regular configuration. Got everything in the bag and I'm right at the 55/15 cutoff, so I should be able to bring...

Packing, Travel, and Diving Tips for the SB SURGE to Little Cayman

I called Cayman Airways yesterday and I must have got an inexperienced C/S rep. She said if my bags were over 55 lbs they'd keep whatever was over and send it on a later flight. Trouble is, because my Toronto flight arrival time got pushed back, I now have to get there on the last flight of...

Packing, Travel, and Diving Tips for the SB SURGE to Little Cayman

I swapped out my gear bag for the duffel that my dry suit came in so that shaved off another six pounds. Packing my older yoke regs as those are lighter. I think I need a bigger carry on as my little backpack is bursting at the seams.

Packing, Travel, and Diving Tips for the SB SURGE to Little Cayman

I'll probably end up doing that, but there has to be a cut off. Twin Otters can only carry so much cargo, passengers and fuel before they go diving on the reef. When I was a kid we fit an entire pee wee hockey team along with coaches and our equipment on a twin otter.

Packing, Travel, and Diving Tips for the SB SURGE to Little Cayman

How is everyone staying under 55 lbs across two checked bags? I'm at 43 for gear and I don't feel comfortable leaving anything else behind. At this rate I'm going to be wearing six days of clothes on the plane because I won't be able to bring a suitcase. Glad I've got the rest of the week to...

ScubaBoard SURGE Central 2020 Little Cayman

I've heard it can get like that during the tourist season. I was planning on off-season. Might be a bit chilly but they'll still take you there and there won't be as much competition.

ScubaBoard SURGE Central 2020 Little Cayman

Anyone else got some really ugly flights? I got a 5 hour layover in Calgary, then two more hours in Toronto. Probably just us up here in the great white north. Be nice to have a direct flight there, but I'm not moving to Toronto just to get better flights. We have a direct flight to Cancun...

I'll bring my adapter just in case. Want to use my Apeks regs.

Jacksonville area diving around Dec. 11-13

Can't find the last thread I posted about this area, but who knows stuff might have changed. Definitely going to be in Jacksonville from Dec. 5 to 10 for work. No chance for dives on those days as the work is going to be pretty hectic. After that, though, I'd like to stick around and get some...

    Yoke to din conversion possible?

I'm the same. Don't like the adapter but if I need to travel somewhere that doesn't have DIN tanks it'll have to do.

    BP/W questions

Just bought 30 feet of it to have as a spare and in case the next pool session doesn't work out well. Deep6 just emailed me and said they're sending a new buckle and inflator hose, so that's a welcome response at least. Like I said, the post wasn't meant to flame them, just to look for...
