I'm waiting on some reports on the gorillas myself. I've been warm water diving the Go Sports since they were introduced and I enjoy them very much. I just wish I could squeeze a bit more horsepower out of them every now and then.
We generally request a room close to the dive shop. It's the quieter end of the resort usually and convenient as well. If you get an oceanfront room, you will be closer to noise central. I hope this helps.
I was just there last week. This was my sixth trip there and my fifth time diving with Ocean Encounters. I have thoroughly enjoyed every trip. The hotel has construction going on but it's not bad at all. Ocean Encounters is a great dive operation and very convenient if staying at Lions Dive.
I've never used the Eddys but my Go Sports have all but replaced my Quattro + fins. The Quattros have a bit more power but in all other departments important to me, the Sports are awesome.
Here's a question for the OP. Did they have you use a buoy or an SMB while diving the house reef? Also any insight on entry and exit to the house reef? I will be there in a few weeks and was just looking for tips. I've boat dived with Ocean Encounters many times, but I've never been able to take...
When I was in Curacao a year or so ago, I met a fellow vacationer that said he had been shore diving shipwreck point all week. I just figured someone would have access insight.
Is there any shore entrance access to this dive site other than swimming out from Hemingways? I'm trying to keep my upcomming trip to mainly shore dives. My dive buddy is staying at Sunscape and I'm staying at Lions Dive, so there should be more than enough exploring to do without getting on a...
Unfortunately it looks as the Bas Harts Diving is no more. That's a big bummer because I really wanted to dive with Bas again when things normalized again.
It was partially due to the realities brought to light during this pandemic. Another factor was getting to know an ex pat who has lived there for the past 15 years and getting his take on it.
My wife and I were truly considering retirement on Curacao. We looked all around the island and found a place we would like to purchase and build on and were preparing to slow roll our way into it.Having had many long talks with ex pats and then the pandemic hitting changed our minds. As much as...
We stayed at the Royal Sea Aquarium Resort in Willemstad. We enjoyed the resort and the staff was fantastic. My wife and I really like staying in this vicinity because most of the things we like are close by such as Mambo Blvd. Unfortunately it's a bit of a haul to get out to the western end of...
We have just returned on the 14th of March from Curacao and it was fantastic. While there I had my first dives on the western side of the island. As I was forced to dive solo due to dive buddy injuries back home,I chose to dive with Bas Hart for 3 days.
The diving was excellent in my opinion as...
We just returned from Curacao on the 14th. At that time KLM was flying in empty planes to get people home to Europe.I think it was the 13th when the PM of Curacao announced that they were closing their borders.
You may want to check out San Salvador in the Bahamas. Sharks on every dive that are not nearly as shy as T&C sharks. Also there are Hammerheads there that are very impressive in size. The overall diving is very similar to T&C but better.
I have just returned from Curacao where I tested my new GS Sports for 10 dives. I was very impressed with them for their small size. I am used to diving the Avanti Quattros which to me are very powerful fins and these little guys were in my estimation about 85% as powerful frog kicking. They...
I dive a steel BP with just a rashguard probably 90% of the time and it's no problem at all. I used to dive an Express Tech myself and loved it but I like the steel BP more because it helps in the ballast department. If you decide to go with a metal BP, I would definitely recommend the DGX setup...
I just got my regs back from their first service and thought I would give a quick thank you to the folks at Deep6. The turnaround time was very quick considering a holiday was thrown in the mix and the entire process couldn't have been easier.
I actually did the DIY fix before I ever dove the rig. It seemed prudent to fix a possible problem before it ever occurred. In the 10 dives I've done with it since, there have been no problems.
