    I was at bird rock recently, too. My first time there. We had a bit of current and the viz was down a bit. What I really noticed were alot of flies on the surface.

    All my dives to the Channel isl. have been on the Spectre from Ventura. As I've never used a different boat I don't have much to compare it to. However, I have no cause to complain. Good track was kept of the divers, meals were always good, the capt/crew worked hard to get you good diving...

    Thanks Serenity. I know there isn't nearly as much to see in fresh as salt, but I'd like to do it just for the experience. Besides, the red tide and low vis has been making me itchy. Perris is being partially drained. A buddy talk to a ranger there who said visibility has been affected.

    :14: Very interesting. B4 I dove, I'd wear the same type of swim trunks under my wetsuit when surfing, but they would bunch up or bind. Then I said "screw modesty" and I'd do the dance in the parking lot donning and doffing my wetsuit w/ nothing under. Much more comfortable. Now beaches are...

    :fro: Hope to contribute. I've only about a dozen dives here in So. Cal all off a boat at the Channel islands. Looking forward to some beach diving and possibly some fresh water diving if I can find a venue :D
