Hi from South Carolina.... A prospective new diver when I can get a few things cleaned up and find a dive shop in my area.

Check out Scuba John's in Lexington. One of the best dive shops (if not the best) in South Carolina. I'm in South Carolina also. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Second guessing my BC choice (Hydros Pro)

I've dropped my total weight a bit (4lbs) from when I had a jacket BC. Generally, I go 12-14lbs with 6 in the trim pockets and the rest in the front pockets.

Second guessing my BC choice (Hydros Pro)

The air bladder can taco up and fill unevenly which makes me 'roll' to one side or the other..not dramatically like a barrel roll, haha, but harder to stay level.

Second guessing my BC choice (Hydros Pro)

I purchased the Hydros Pro a year ago. I've had about 30 dives on it. Overall, I'm satisfied with it. When I was doing research, most of the reviews I saw were glowing. But now reading deeper, I see there's a lot of negative opinions about it...I have noticed it rolling on me, but nothing...

    Bought a Peregrine

I've had my peregrine for about a year. The tip about rinsing in fresh water is not to be ignored. I thought for sure my computer was a dud until I contacted Shearwater support and they recommended the soaking. It's a great computer, and I agree with everyone here.

    Anti-fog solution

On my last dive I had my baby shampoo spray with me (I do a 50/50 mix with water). I shared with anyone who asked on the boat, they were all astounded at how clear their masks were. One woman said it was the clearest her mask had EVER been, lol.

Are the majority of dive shops bad?

Trust me, ripping them a new one has come to mind for sure. My only hesitation is that knowing that divers are a tight knit community, they’d believe the shop’s word over mine and I’d possibly get a reputation of being a jerk...not that it’s a fair reputation, but nonetheless. I just don’t...

Are the majority of dive shops bad?

I really hesitated to post this question. I consider myself relatively new to diving, I have 18 dives under my belt and have been certified for 2 years. In that time I've encountered three different dive shops for certifications/gear and about that many for dives. While the shops I've dived...

    Hello from South Carolina

I'm a fairly new diver (2 years) with 18 dives under my belt, working towards my SDI advanced diver certification. I've only ever dived in the southeast US/bahamas but always looking to expand my range. Luckily I got my youngest daughter her Jr. OW certification this year so I have a built-in...
