Diving during COVID-19 - Possible Options in Ontario?

vam/abnfrog, I’m in Midland, ON. Dive solo here a fair bit. If anyone had anything interesting that is accessible and was welcome to me tagging along - at a safe distance - I’d be in. I have 4 tanks left ( combination of Nx and straight air) plus my stage so I’m good for few dives.

Diving during COVID-19 - Possible Options in Ontario?

OK - right now I have a lot of time - rare - and seemingly cannot dive anywhere. I DO NOT want to seem insensitive to the situation. Nor do I want to be careless with my health or anyone else’s. I would however think there would be some OK situations for - say - some shore diving. No need ( that...

Was just in Roth - no diving though. Cold out there - dry suit I’m assuming. I’m on Niagara river and Georgian bay. Not too bad here for another month as long as your dry. Hardcore buys go under the ice but not really my thing.

    Air integrated dive computer brands

Kimela - I'm far from an expert on the topic. My first five computer is my current. Perdix AI. Recommended when I bought an entire gear package this year. It has been easy to use and is very easy to see - even for my old eyes. any issues I had turned out to be my own - but the folks at...

    Specific Boat Diving Gear Management

The extent of my boat diving has been small xcursions with rental gear - 2 or 3 people on a small boat or diving with my own gear from my own boat. In the first case all gear is basically laid out for you and you leave it there when you leave the boat. On my own boat my gear is all where I want...

Better alternative to 3cf spare air?

Been diving for a while but only recently decided to get certified and buy a full kit. I dive both cold fresh water (dry suit) and warm salt water. (Wet suit, as appropriate). I do a fair number of dives alone. Nothing deep. Generally 20 - 40 feet in the cold fresh water. Whether alone or with a...

Goodman handle for primary. Backup has lanyard around right wrist with light turned back on inside of wrist and tucked under computer straps. (Bungee). Clean. Easy to get and never in the way. Knife goes same configuration on left hand under compass straps.

    Buying complete new setup

I have not tried the 7mm but I have the 5mm. Very well made. Very comfortable for my build. (6'1" tall. 220lbs - some of it misplaced in the middle). The zipper functions great and the suit just feels good in the water.

    Boots - The final frontier

Environmentally friendly dish soap and water in a spray bottle. Makes fun entry or tight wet suit entry easy and does not hurt anything.

    Dive Computer Advice

Recently bought an entire kit and at that time I wanted a complete set up that would carry me through several years of diving / skill development without further investment. (Obviously maintenance will always be a cost). My LDS made some great recommendations andmit took me 3-4 trips to settle...

    How do you carry accessories?

All great ideas. Consider spare light with lanyard around right wrist and light tucked back under computer straps. Knife same way with compass on left wrist. Out of the way. Pre tethered. Easy access without worry of dropping. (Computer and compass using bungee style straps)
