Yep, just happened to me, same story. Bought in 2015, not that much diving. I think these are junk. Avoid sun and salt -- really? Dive gear? I had to tie that back piece with bungee cord -- not rubber! I also will contact Mares and the dive shop that sold it. These things are expensive...
