Thanks, Spud! I'll have you know the 'Rolex Grin' is still shining like 24/7! Hope your dives have still been going strong :)

    New mermaid on the block

They're so beautiful! I'd be lazing back enjoying the paradise too. This Australian sea lion is called Charlie. He was rescued when he was a pup. 70% of Aus sea lion pups don't make it pat their first year, their population is estimated to be about 12,000 individuals left in the wild...

    diving fitness?

Great pictures, and great actions everyone takes! I know it's no hard and fast rule, and that anyone of most levels of fitness can take part, but it's nice to see and hear what everyone else does just for their love of diving! I like that everyone has gone into detail, I'm absolutely a details...

    diving fitness?

PADI always refrences the benfits of staying fit and helathy for diving, but always in a rather oblique manner, they never go into the facts and suggestions I love so much (I'm a geek for facts), so I figured I'd ask here. I'd love to know what everyone does to keep fit topside (I mean above...

    Nude diving?

I've read plenty of your posts here, and agree 100% that we're of the same wavelength! Thanks for the welcome :) Good Lord I don't want to paint the picture of my being a nudist or anything, it's fun in the odd blue moon, but for the most part I need any protection I can get (from the cold, I...

    Nude diving?

Kind of a rule of thumb though, if you're going into the water and you're killing sealife in what seems to be a competition where there's masses of activity and action like this, it's inevitable that the chances of being bitten rise dramatically. Avoid anyone with spearfishing gear if you want...

    New mermaid on the block

I tend to get a little caught up on my own backyard, that's my problem! Have you seen the leafies, Wingy? I spent a fair while around Vanuatu, so went diving an awful lot. Obviously the highlight was Espiritu Santo; Coolidge and Million $ never got boring for me. Hideaway, Twin Bommies, and The...

    Nude diving?

I think you're all wimps! It's hilarious, and fun, and free! I'm feeling like the odd one out on here now though, surely it can't be that unusual, see boys do it too!!!

    Nude diving?

I prefer diving in the tropics, warm water is my friend (I can't deal with cold at ALL), but I've done plenty of nude dives. And not just the infamous 100th, either. I think it's fun!

    New mermaid on the block

Thanks everyone! Lots of hard work. I worked two jobs for a year just to get started, to be able to take the time away and get my foot in the door (so to speak), add the hundreds of hours of volunteer work to add experience before I could even join. I always knew marine conservation was what I...

    New mermaid on the block

I'm so glad to hear, MasterDiver! The entirety of South East Asia needs all the help it can get, and it's so good to see you taking it further wuth the specialty! That course must have been a blast. Especially around Hantu. I just came back from Malaysia actually, helping prepare for the...

    New mermaid on the block

I think that it's too late for me, the serious train is running express to pretending-to-be-a-sharkville

    New mermaid on the block

Okay, so first thing's first, I'm going to bore you with endless conservstion slides (I wish photos were still slides, sounds much cooler than just old 'photo') and facts, and then you're going to regret encouraging me to post more photos. Deal? Deal. I think the correct title here is 'crazy...

    New mermaid on the block

Thanks, Francesea. I will post conservation vibes and photos when I'm home if you'd like! I do dive in Aus, but the water temperature usually leaves me with blue lips and numb extremeties, the happier diving is off around SE Asia and the Pacific where I can shed the bulk. I have Waterproof...

    Dive computers for small wrists

I totally agree! It's hard to find a good one, I've used Tusa, and the D4i Novo (it has the best colours, and is the most normal sized), but my oceanic duo 2 is my favorite

    Hollywood dive movies?

Did anyone see L'Odyssee? I've had a nightmare of a time trying to track it down, but have been so excited to see it (not Hollywood, of course, but still diving in cinema)

    New mermaid on the block

Hahahah thanks! I do love my job, every now and then I get to escape and head off to work conservation efforts, and when I'm back I get to spend my time with all my aquatic friends (whose breath is a little like what I imagine the mines of moria to smell like). It's hard to complain!
