what sidemount tanks do you dive with?

    A LP85 holds 85 ft^3 only at +10% pressure of 2640. At 3600 psi: 3600/2640 *85 = 115 ft^3. A HP100 holds 100 ft^3 at rated pressure of 3442. So I believe the difference is 15%.

what sidemount tanks do you dive with?

LP85 @ 3600psi holds 15% more gas than HP100 @3442. If you can get cave fills (typically ~3800 psi) it does make sense IMHO.

Looking for experts on FL diving.

Blue Grotto does not allow solo diving unless you have a solo certification. There are some nice dive charters out of Boynton Beach/Jupiter area. Depending on the day they do reef drift dives or reef drift/wreck. There are some wrecks with large aggregations of Goliath Groupers. It's pretty...

Looking for experts on FL diving.

I have not dived Oriskany, but be aware that only the "island" (i.e. control tower) is within recreational dive limits. The flight deck is at 145', I believe.

Dive Rite Nomad LS - Feedback?

You’ve heard from the seasoned instructors, so let me give you my perspective as a student who recently went through this, for whatever it’s worth. I recently completed Intro to Cave. It was my first real tech class, and I did it in sidemount as a shoulder problem makes doubles difficult for me...

Would anyone like to dive Devil's Throat?

@ChuckP: Not sure what you are trying to say here. You seem to be implying that because you are holding your breath and not inhaling anymore from your reg that your PO2 is not increasing as you descend. If that's what you are saying then I don't believe that's correct. There are two forces at...

    Perdix, Deco plan (real time)

@npole. Perdix Dive Planner on the surface allows you to calculate what NDL would be based on SIT, average depth and time for next dive. And, a deco schedule based on that input from the user. Once you start the dive it will give you acutal on-the-fly info on what actual stop schedule is as the...

    Perdix AI and bluetooth...

I can connect Perdix easily to MacBook or iphone. Forget Shearwater Cloud. Subsurface is better. I pair Perdix with iphone via Bluetooth, upload dive log into Subsurface and then can sync Subsurface with macbook or PC if I want. It's an awesome dive computer, but the Bluetooth implementation is...
