I bought a pair of new without tags Apeks tech shorts on eBay for $20 shipped. They‘re a size XL, and I normally wear between medium and large (sz 35). I was wondering how to best go about downsizing them to fit me. I was thinking of washing them in warm water and drying on low heat a few times...
this is actually my computer, but someone else tied the knots and I’m not sure what type they are. I plan on replacing the cord and using the same knot, as it’s worked out really well for me.
I’m currently in the Philippines until November, and after getting a Shearwater Perdix AI a few days ago, I’m thinking I may as well move from my regular “poodle jacket” bcd (an Atomic Aquatics BC1) to a bp/w. Or at least start getting pieces of one together...
One of the other DM’s is...
Check them out in my “for sale” ad - I’ll trade both for a new or used Perdix AI with a transmitter. One of the Cobalt 2’s is new, the other has 30 dives and counting at this point.
For some reason it doesn’t seem like this has hit the news yet, but on the 1st a Chinese diver diving with Dawei dive shop in Sabang went missing on a dive in the Canyons off Sabang Beach. My understanding is he’s pretty experienced, fit, about 50, has been to Sabang yearly for the last 6 years...
I saw these guys swimming around today (im in the Philippines until November) and couldn’t figure out why they were carrying around a whole additional rig. Maybe they heard of side-mount and got confused about what it was? Anybody have any clues?
I’m selling two Atomic Aquatics Cobalt 2 dive computers. One is brand new, and the other has 27 dives on it. They EACH currently retail for $1200 usd apiece (so the total retail value is 2400 usd), but I’ll sell each one for 700 apiece. Each comes with the protective case (which normally costs...
I was on my first dive of the morning to 45 meters (after a 24 hour dive break) and the computer put me in 20+ minutes of deco after hitting 45m after about 15 minutes. The resort owner and I were diving together pretty much at identical depths (he was using a shearwater) and he only had about...
Just came across this on eBay... “prototype force fins” with “experimental OPS foot pockets” for $2500.. wowie. Talk about ugly!

I’ve gone on international dive trips before, but only once with my own gear. Then, I just checked it all and hoped for the best. Now that I’m about to leave on my next 3-month trip to Manila, and have MUCH nicer gear than before, I’m wondering if I should do it differently. I’ve got 2 dive...
No, not THOSE kind of implants. :) I’m headed back to Asia next week for 3 months and am getting 2 dental implants while I’m there. On the first day I get there they’ll be putting the posts in, then letting them heal before putting crowns on. The teeth are in my back right upper (#2) and back...
Mine is both the coolest and most useless thing at the same time.. a Korean diver who was at the shop I was doing my internship with brought a vortex ring bubble generator, hooked up to one of his LP hoses. I can make them with my hands and some exhalation air, but this thing was on a whole...
My weirdest would have to be on a dive in 2017 I made in the Philippines while doing a 3-month DM internship... I found a half-empty aluminum scuba cylinder just hanging out on the bottom during a drift dive. It wasn’t rigged up for doubles or anything, it just looked like someone had forgotten...
About to be back at the dock - here’s today’s big catch. The rest are a crap ton of red snapper... not worth photographing... but all good eating... and no, I didn’t disrespect the fish. Other than putting a bolt of hardened spring steel through his torso, that is.
The question is tongue-in-cheek, obviously I know that they can’t breathe above water. That didn’t stop us from trying - successfully – to put a scuba tank into the mouth of one that we made an instant kill on (a rarity for AJs) a few weeks ago. To help him breathe out of water. 127 lbs.
I am immediately ready to purchase a set of spring straps for my Apollo Bio Fin Pros. I wear a size Large or XL. Please let me know if you happen to have a pair available.
I am immediately in the market for a pair of atomic spring straps. I wear a large or extra large, if that makes a difference. If you happen to have one by one trade instead, I have the regular rubber straps that go on them and will swap those plus money, too.
The size is ML, but I wear a Large in Cressi and Aqualung have no problem fitting this one. I’m 6’ and 250 lbs, so unless you’re about 6’2 and 275, then this should fit you fine. I purchased it brand new from a dive shop and it has never been used in the water. Only in my living room, and that...
Well, the title really speaks for itself. I’ll be spending half a year several thousand miles from the nearest Atomic repair shop, and would like to have the service manual/technician training manuals on hand in case Murphy visits and I need to take something apart.
Bardo’s (Jason’s) site...
The title basically says it all… I was gifted with a SMB a few years back that I really like. On the top of it, the company name “ARGON” is printed in silver, with a dot under the A and a stylized “A” symbol above it. I’ve hunted eBay for products by them and Google to see if I can find a...
