    Diving "Conservative" vs Nitrox

You changed your post a lot (which is fine). I'm not saying not to use nitrox, I'm saying it would be better to understand why you (not you, any diver) are feeling tired. And I said "it's not just about changing your computer". So do you dive nitrox on every dive? This I don't understand...

    Diving "Conservative" vs Nitrox

I disagree, at least until someone proves to me otherwise. If you feel bad tired after diving with air I think you're doing something wrong. I "think" you can change your approach to diving and feel much better. I would rather dive more conservatively, go into deco, and ascend much slower than...

    Diving "Conservative" vs Nitrox

Did you read the 1st post? I thought I did but here you go; "Can you get the same results from setting a computer to be more conservative vs just switching over to nitrox?" At least in my experience I have, and I say setting a computer but it's not really that. It's what's been discussed...

    Diving "Conservative" vs Nitrox

I tried searching the www and here before I started the thread but I came up empty🤷‍♂️

    Diving "Conservative" vs Nitrox

But if you're feeling tired don't you think that's a sign you're moving too fast? Wouldn't you want to figure that out vs just throwing less nitrogen at it?

    Diving "Conservative" vs Nitrox

I don't think that matters in the context of this discussion though. If the same diver doesn't slow down, still ascends too fast, flies to the surface after the clock is clear I don't think the dive profile matters... I don't think the gas matters either. My point to my buddy yesterday was...

My heads (vs those of older models) are stainless. I thought the fear with stainless bolts was if they were dissimilar metals?

    Diving "Conservative" vs Nitrox

Had what started to seem like an interesting conversation with a buddy yesterday on the dock about diving air vs diving nitrox "all the time". He made the comment that his buddy dives nitrox all the time even on dives where it wasn't needed because it makes him feel better. He said his buddy...

@iain/hsm you had mentioned listing the different head bolt sizes to switch them out to stainless. I tried to match them up at the hardware store, but they didn't carry stainless. I guess I'll just order them online.

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

I have read this over and over but has anyone actually lost a bunch or is it just a perception of what would happen? I have yet to read real world experience of this happening. To top it off, silicone seals breaking are pretty rare. I mean I always have a spare ready but how often do they fail...

Question Valve for 100% O2 Deco Bottle

It makes more sense to get into a habit of O2 cleaning than to rely on gear to be O2 clean or O2 "suitable". You can get the O2 valve, but should still O2 clean, in which case either valve will work and which valve you get is a moot point. I shoot for a yearly O2 clean but if I'm being really...

    A new normal...

We have a swim spa, shame you're not closer as you'd be welcomed to use it any time. It's exactly what would be good for you (except maybe the steps in and out). I've watched my father in law go though 9 back surgeries after he was in a car accident that wasn't his fault. I know that sounds...

Alright, here's 2 3rd stage pistons next to each other. The one on the left is brand new, the one on the right is my old piston. I don't really see any difference to the naked eye. I need to take some measurements, hoping to get some later today. I also got a new pair of pressure breaker rings...

Effect of Relative Humidity on compressors

@TravisD as we discussed, I always shoot for cooler temps. Do not care what the humidity is, the only thing that I end up doing (because of humidity) is draining the coalesers more in the summer. Not all of us are blessed with automatics!:) I have a timer that goes off on my phone, so I'll...

No criticism at all, I appreciate the insight. For what it's worth I gave Rix my serial number and these were the parts they sent. They have asked me to send back the pressure breaker rings as they believe they might be out of spec, or at least that's what I assume because they were nice enough...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

I have the 250, 4E Arctics, and 4E Halo 3D. I think it goes Arctics, 250, and then Halo 3D in order of warmth. The 4E stuff is a lot less bulky, it is more dense. So while the 250 is bulky it will compress a good bit. I find the 4E stuff easier to dive and more comfortable overall. I really...

    Replacement HP Spool and Boot

If you have a newer gauge take it apart and swap the spool over and try it. I've never used a gauge in a boot, they've always been fine right up until I switched to transmitters.
