Configuration: TG-6 + Seafrogs housing + Sea & Sea YS-01
Strobe si not firing when camera is Microscope Control ( Sub-mode un Microscope mode).
It seems internal flash intensitity in this Sub-mode not strong enough to trigger the YS-01. I haven't find a way to solve it.
Have any had this same...
There is plenty of discussions and posts about the quality of housings and their prices
I would like to share my point of view.
There is some kind of rule of thumbs that a higher price should mean a higher quality. I mostly agree but the point is how much expensive would make sense.
I may...
In a thread apart BArmaglot once wrote:
For a macro solution more affordable than SEL90M28G, the new Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro looks interesting, and by the looks of it, it should fit into the long port for 55-210mm lens - the Sigma extends, but so does the Sony 55-210mm, and their dimensions...
I am just curious for the moment. I have 2 YS-01 which I use each attached to a Seafrogs A6xxx Salted Line by Fiber optic cables.
I know I can also connect them from first to second strobe like this:
I have tested (above water) that when strobes are more or less facing each other the 2nd...
According to Meikon and Seafrogs websites this lens (Sony 50 mm Macro) only fits in the Flat long macro port. I wonder If anyone has tried and succeed in using it with the standard port.
This lens is 71 mm long not much more than the extended 16-50mm. The 18-50 mm, that is said to fit in this...
From my "late" Canon G7X I keep the housing and several accesories.
I managed to adapt the LCD Magnifier to Seafrogs housing and I am doing a good use of it. I made a post about it several weeks ago.

This is an image of the result...
As long as I understand this vacuum system should be blinking green when vacuum is conserved and blinks red when it is lost, meaning leaking.
A few days ago, I left the VPS blinking green for a while and when I returned it was off, not red.
I thought it was possibly the battery. I took the...
After a few uses I have been finding the zoom knob to hard to turn. I think it was not so hard in first uses.
Maybe it has to be in the way the zoom ring is acommodated but I have put it in and out several times and it still is hard (harder or softer at times).
Does anyone has had this problem...
Revisiting MEIKON website I have found a lot more of Zoom or Focus rings.
When I bought my housing it came with the ring for 16-50mm and 10-18 mm (I think they were the only available at the time).
Now I found zoom rings for:
- Sony 18-135mm & 16-70mm lenses
- Sony 18-105mm lens
- Sony...
I am farsighted. I use a mask with +2 prescription lens but even with that I find difficultt read settings on the LCD display. I had thought to use the viewfinder but that would be a new routine for me to adapt to.
I had solved that problem with my Canon GX7 in Fantasea Housing with the LCD...
I found in my old stuff 2 conversions lens I had used with videocameras more than 10 years ago. One Raynox 0.66X, 52mm and one Kenko 0.43X fisheye 37 mm.
I just placed then in front of the Sony kit lens 16-50 to see thru them (I do not have the proper step-up and step-down rings) lookin for...
Based on optics formulas I have tried to create a handy calculator to estimate new magnification when diopters are attached in front of lens.
This is a beta version in excel. I would appreciate your inputs both technically as in language (english is not my native language).
Thanks in advance.
Reading the Meikon's website I do not really understand some remarks about lens compatibility. I mean particularly the mentions to "autofocus only" or "no manual focus". It would appear to be clear but I am little confused.
For example let's take the 4" Dry Dome Port:
Being the Samyang a manual...
I plan to buy an a6300 and I was thinking of giving a try to use extension tubes with Sony E PZ 16–50 mm to gain some macro capabilities. I want to "test my hands" before buying a more expensive macro lens (so far I've been using a G7X with a +6 wet diopter that gave me no more than 0.4x...
is there an order to stack 2 differents diopters? I mean, with 2 diopters of +5 and +10 respectively, do I have to respect an order/position to stack them?
Regards
My torch is flooding in every dive. Fortunately flooding is in the reflector cone and no mayor damage is done, just a loss in reflection surface.
I dissamble, rinse and re-assamble it after each dive. I do not know what i am doing wrong when sealing it.
Does anyone has experience with this?
I have a CANON G7X on a Fantasea housing.
Two strobes: 1 YS-01 and 1 Nikonos 105.
So far, more than enough for macro shots since with minimum parture F11 a have to use the strobes in their minimum power. But I would like to have 2 strobes of the same model/power. Two Nikonos I don't think, but I...
I own a Canon G7X on a Fantasea housing. Been shooting macro with INON UCL-165 (165 mm/ +6 diopters).
This configuration limits my shots for a real subject distance roughly between 12 and 16 cm ( 5 to 6-1/2 inches).
The field of view is not narrow enough to cover the frame with a tiny critter...
As a dome, the Fantasea Bigeye underwater should recover the in-air FOV. That seems to be clear.
But in this page:
Canon G7X Wet Lens Tests
while exactly stating that it only reverses the magnifying effects of refraction underwater there are two sample photos which seems to have a wider recovery...
Is there any ratio or proportional relation between F-stops and lumens?
Knowing that changing a full F-stop reduces or increases by 2 the pass of light, Could we assume that doubling or halving the lumens of lights would have relatively similar effect on exposure?
Par example: would we have...
