Recurring ear squeeze-nasal steroids + antihistamine + oral steroid

In a similar vein to the sinus squeeze thread, I've had issues for years clearing my ears on descent. I generally have to resort to pinching my nose and trying to blow my brain out through my ears. Most of the issue is my left ear (which i blew during dive training 30 yrs ago in high school)...

Best signaling devices from the searcher’s point of view - update

Pardon the silly question, but what's the difference between a PLB and MRG. I think I've seen some posts of those that carry both, but I thought they did the same thing.

Best mobile apps (currently) to Log dives ?

I'm using Subsurface on Android and Windows. The Bluetooth Low Energy library they use is not functional on Windows, but is on Android. So, I download dives via my phone, then sync to their cloud, then edit the dives on my Windows desktop to add details to the dives.

    Online dive log

A new Subsurface user here. I just bought an Aladin Sport Matrix, which only download's via Bluetooth Low Energy. The Scubapro LogTrak seems really limited, and unfortunately the BLE library for Subsurface doesn't currently work on Windows. But, I've setup Subsurface to save to their cloud...

    LOW ALTITUDE Flying after diving

    1. Yeah, there are a lot of perks to being here, that's for sure. 2. The trip in question that started all this is being put together by my LDS which is to Jupiter and the dive schedule is set by them for the group. Flying would save a little time, but not really much after the SI and tucking...

    LOW ALTITUDE Flying after diving

Honestly, for me, in the planned scenario, weather is my least concern. While we do have thunderstorms pop up in the afternoons, and they can come up quickly, they take an hour or two to form. I haven't (yet) seen one form from a clear sky in a matter of minutes. And if I see one along the...

    LOW ALTITUDE Flying after diving

@T.C. Unfortunately, that's as far away for me as Jupiter/West Palm Beach. It's great to have another option, but still doesn't put me closer to good diving. :banghead: My main goal is to try and keep my interest up in the sport, while Life does it's best to get in my way.

    LOW ALTITUDE Flying after diving

@atdotde Regulations require that I be at 1000 ft over 'densely populated' areas, and 500 ft over 'sparsely populated areas. In this instance, I have the option of flying a short distance offshore up either coast, so I could legally stay as low as 500 ft. My 'plan' would be to be over land...

    LOW ALTITUDE Flying after diving

I hear you on that, but it is more in my control that you would think (@Altamira and any other pilots or ATC members, keep me honest here). As a private pilot flying VFR (in good weather) and not on a flight plan, ATC has truly no authority over my flight. In fact, I'm not even required by...

    LOW ALTITUDE Flying after diving

You could be right on that one. I'll bashfully admit that 'GetHomeitus' has bitten me a couple of times. In fact, part of the reason for this thread was to battle that very thing. If some good discussion on the topic from people much more 'in the know' than me can show the current state of...

    LOW ALTITUDE Flying after diving

    John, I reran my worst case dive profiles using the Navy tables & the Navy EAD values for EAN32, and got the following: Sat Dive 1 - 60 min @ 50 ft (60 ft @ EAN32) (Navy-RDG:I) + 60 min SI (Navy-RDG:H) Dive 2 - 50 min @ 40 ft (50 ft @ EAN32) + 74 min RNT (Navy-RDG:M) + 16:00 hr SI (RESET...

    LOW ALTITUDE Flying after diving

@Duke Dive Medicine, I'm not seeing a Rev 7 of the Diving Manual. The only full document I see "US Navy Diving Manual Rev. 6 with Change A entered", and a couple of ACNs which seem to imply they are to R7, but I don't actually see R7 on the page. And, when I try to pull down R6, I get a page...

    LOW ALTITUDE Flying after diving

@RainPilot, leaving the legal stuff aside, I'm more trying to focus on the physiological issues. A similar, legal, situation could occur say in the Bahama's. Book a puddle jumper between islands for the afternoon, and then get in a couple of dives in the morning. As short as the flights would...

    LOW ALTITUDE Flying after diving

I'm not sure this is the correct forum for this, so if not, my apologies... I'm a new OW diver and a private pilot in NE FL. Unfortunately, it seems all the 'good' offshore diving is clustered around the keys, which is a 5-8 hr drive, depending on how far down I go. However, I also have...

    Just got my 1st reg...Deep6!!

I did buy an IP gauge from DGX. Thought about a Second Stage In-Line Adjusting Tool w/IP Gauge, but I'm not sure I'm ready to 'disassemble Number 5' yet. I tend to be heavy-handed with wrenches, so just worried that I'll damage them when reassembling. I'm strongly considering the Deep 6 reg...

    Just got my 1st reg...Deep6!!

Even after watching several of the unboxing videos, I have to say, it was really exciting to unbox my own!! I've got a Navigation class in 2 weeks, and weekend dive trip the following weekend, so I'm really looking forward to trying them out!! Are there any any specific issues I should be...
