Thanks guys. It does make sense, since switching to curly foot seemed to have reduced but not eliminated it. It’s a tough spot to inspect and work on. But I’ll take a look after I get my other reg set up and running.

Kidding aside, it's great you want to learn but you'll work stuff like this out with experience. It's also good experience having things go 'not quite right' especially when there's an instructor around. Have fun and enjoy the process!

102 pages is a lot to read through. How does the D420 work in atypical diving positions? It seems like they advertise it as such, but then I thought I read it's not actually much better than 109/250/260?

I like Island Divers. They're the same company as Honolulu Scuba Co so they can help you book dives out of both Honolulu and Hawaii Kai. Hawaii Kai diving has drifts and different options, and Island Divers shop is a bit more relaxed and island style.

I contacted the manufacturer and was able to get to the distributor through them. Thanks for the advice. I suggested that was a better route than trying to DIY and my friend agreed.
