I've been told differently by numerous owners and Garmin folks that the Fenix's guts (seals specifically the buttons - aren't the same as the MK1- or soon to be 2s) are different ...That's why the Fenix isn't rated for diving (but is rated for depth). The Garmin guys I;ve talked to swear that...
A little birdie chirped a couple of days ago that the MK2 delay is due to the US Navy's recent interest in procuring it (cha-ching $$$). The Navy wants some additional changes (my guess is adding Tactix features), tests, and evaluations to the current version of MK2...This will likely push the...
And now there is the Shearwater Peregrine at $450 USD or Atmos Mission One for a few $ less and more features...if you have zero interest in Tec diving.
I had a great Dive with Bahama's Diving. Good boat, good crew, good DMs. We hit a wreck and a reef. Saw plenty of life. Only complaint was no post dive cookies or oranges unless you bought them.
Thanks we booked a reef/wreck trip w/ BD and will likely catch a taxis to BD...we'll see how it goes ;) Hopefully the Dorian siblings stay away...I don't think the Islands need another 'Cane.
I've been to Nassau about 4x before...this is the first dive there though!
Thanks, I'm not looking to drop a bunch of money for a private dive in Nassau ;) And gathering up enough folks to join us would be more pain than I'm willing to endure...we'll roll the dice w/ BD ;)
@Zeke XA3 ...I'll be in Nassau OCT 14/15 we hit port about 0800 and pull out 1600(15th). Looking for some dives...Do you guide? If not can you recommend anyone?
We have our own gear (minus Tanks and Weights). Girlfriend is a novice (OW), I'm Rescue and starting my DM soon.
I've read some pretty...
I've tried numerous things including shaving my glorious face mane! Now I personally use an edging razor (most premium blade have them now) and shave about 1/8" under my nose before a dive and have found that is enough for me to get a good mask seal and post diving it fills back in a few days...
So what did you end up doing? I'll be down there 15-19 Nov and I'm staying in SJD was planning a day or two of local diving and a day at PC...I was looking at ECC for the Op as well... thanks
From our research November water will be in the high 70s and low 80s....BEST time of the year! When are you in Cabo? We are there 15-19 Nov in San Jose Del Cabo. I've heard that anything above a 3mm during that time (and at depth) will be overkill. I'll probably bring a skin and a 2.5mm...
Thanks. I hear you...unfortunately the OW diver this will be their first dive out of class/certs...and I'm only at my 21st Dive (just finished AOW) so I'm neither comfortable leading a dive at depths or mentoring a newb that deep ;) We know our limits...maybe in a few years I'll be in a much...
great article...Can recommend a good Dive shop in SJ? I'll be there mid Nov. 1 of us is AOW the other is OW so we'll have to keep it to shallows.
Thanks
