Is Whites Treating Me Right... Or Not???

Rick, I'm not familiar with White's, but my DUI manual specifically says DO NOT wax the inside teeth on the zipper. I'd be interested to know if the Whites has the same type of zipper with the small flat teeth on the inside. Good luck!

Tired of Diving? Are you still in love with the sport?

I'm still getting a kick out of it and hope I always will. I'll be getting into doing some photography and can only guess that it will make me love diving even more.

    The Trouble with Sun Block...

I appreciate all the advice and info. This certainly is something of which I had no idea. I kind of pride myself on being a good "environmental citizen". Guess I can do better!

    The Trouble with Sun Block...

I made what appeared to be a rookie mistake while diving in the Keys. Being red haired (what little is left), blue eyed and fair skinned, I tend to burn to a crisp rather easily. To combat the evil UV rays in Florida on my first warm water trip, I slathered myself with spf 1bazillion before...

That's one for the log book, Matt. Thanks for sharing!

    Diving in Threes?

Our group here dives three quite often but it is with divers we know and gear with which we're familiar. It always comes down to discussion and planning. Haven't had any problems.

    scuba bike!

I think Dive Training magazine had an quicky article recently on different methods that non-scuba people can use. This was one of the units discussed. Ugly, ain't it?

    Dive Insurance?

Don't know if this is the correct forum (or at least I don't want to hijack the thread) but has anyone had any experience with Dive Assure? I got their coverage last year but like a lot of insurance, you can't tell if it's any good til you need it.

Tips on diving the Spiegel Grove?

I did the SG this past spring with SilentWorld. I don't have a lot of experience with Keys charters but they treated us extremely well. Safe and knowledgeable. I can't remember who mentioned it, but your dive boat needs to get there early. We were a bit late in the morning and had to "settle"...

    Is Henderson worth it??

I have a Henderson Gold Core 3mm for warm water. Absolutley love it. Easy on, easy off, fits well (for a fat bast..d). A bit pricey, but it has worn well.

    Ice Diving?

No ocean? We in Northern New England actually consider Vermont as the West Coast with Burlington as our San Francisco. Why do we dive at all? Because it's fun. Why do we ice dive? Because it's fun.

    Embarrassing/weird q: itchy butt

You can pick up a pair of compression shorts at just about any Wally World. Just remember, potato in the front. :D

    Need a Little Help

I do have good quality undergarments, so I could use the bc and just keep enough air in the suit to keep the squeeze from making me a soprano. Thing is, it doesn't seem like I'm having to put an inordinate amount of air in the suit and I don't notice any gross air migration to my feet. Could be...

    Need a Little Help

Tried lowering the tank a bit with no success. Maybe I'll try a bit more. Don't want to lower it too much - I'm not a real flexible person and reaching back to my first stage is hard enough. Suit fits well throughout, so I don't think that's the problem. Damn, maybe I'll just have to give the...

    Need a Little Help

I dive dry with a Mares Vector 1000 and an 80 steel. I use my suit for buoyancy control (pleeeease, let's not argue that one). I'm fairly large and carry 24 pounds with my normal undergarments, 20 in the weight pockets, 4 in the back. My problem (well, at least this problem) is that I have a...

    off with my head?

I stand corrected. The products I researched before purchasing are all non-asbestosform or non asbestos containing. Asbestos never popped up when looking for pure talc suppliers. Hmmm, I think there may be a talc conspiracy here! Thanks for the heads up. I'll be extra careful what I buy (hack...

    off with my head?

Wow! Never heard of that. Most of the places I've researched show the chemical composition of their product and I've never seen asbestos as a component, even in trace amounts. I'm surprised with current regulations that anyone would be able to sell it at all with detectable amounts of asbestos...

    Drysuit not so dry

Wow, I stand corrected if it's just a loose inflater valve. Never seen anyone get that wet from a leaky valve, though. Hope that's it. Dry is the only way to go! Happy diving!

    off with my head?

The way I understand it is that the perfumes in scented talc have oils that degrade latex. You can purchase pure talc in bulk online very easily (and cheaply). Try Vermont Talc.
