JJCCR "Full Cave" course and/or crossover?

If you want do course nearby, you can do them in Plura (Norway). I recommend Santala, really good instructor. Doesn´t teach JJ, but if you need only crossovers and full cave, he can do that. He teaches Revo and Triton. Dive Courses — Technical Diving | CCR | Cave | Mine | Wreck But with your...

Question NITROX (in less than 40 foot of water)

Now that he knows it’s 32% and hard bottom is 40 feet, I can’t see how it would be dangerous to dive it as nitrox 32% if he has computer that has ability. He can’t have hyperoxia because of so shallow hard bottom. Can’t really do anything wrong vs air even if you don’t know anything about nitrox...

Setpoint during fast decent, what do you use?

Haven't seen "my" way of doing this in posts. Autoset 0.7->1.3 10 meters before target dept. Diluent 1.0-1.1 at target depth. Autoset kicks in solenoid just before reaching bottom and get you nicely to target p02. Usually good buoyancy at target depth. Autoset 2nd computer to switch at dept to...

    New Seacraft Go! DPV

I think it is going to sell well. Seacrafts are so quiet. Also magnetic prop and external charging make virtually service free. Price is low for what it gives.

Plan is to take crossover to oc in 1-2 year time. Maybe the mindset will be different then. But for now I don't feel I would need OC xp for diving CCR. If you come from Oc background you might feel different. We would need some who has done first CCR cave and then OC tell their story.

Had once problem with oxygen sensor, and wow your focus really goes only to looking that if you have to bailout or not. You have to give leadership to your buddy without problem, because you start to make mistakes. That is why I can't understand solo diving in overhead environment it is so risky...

That man really breathed some gas. But I am left wondering, where was his partner. Also If he was on OC and panicked/breathed rapidly (cause would be something different), would he survived then, because he would only have 1/3rd more. There was no hypecapnia here. So it seems to me that OC/CCR...

How much you would take then for that dive? 3? Or do you advocate for 45l/min bailout calculations like some do? Please elaborate and don't just bailout :p @helios As you can see there are different opinions about everything in scuba.

Info TDI Rebreather Cavern/Intro to Cave

Like I said I haven't done OC calculations. But if you calculale that in 1/3 is needed for reserve and 1/3 to get out, you can use 1/3 to go in. So twin 12 would be 24/3 = 8 liters what you can use to dive. So that you would need 1.5 x 8l to bailout so 12l. So take 2x 11.1l bailouts. Took close...

Well, that is just bad teaching then. I/and other trainees found out that bailout diving is much easier that CCR diving. But yeah if it isn't taught correct, you will have bad time when you actually need to bailout (hasn't happened yet).

Info TDI Rebreather Cavern/Intro to Cave

Disagreed. I have only CCR cave. Only thing thing that is not so covered in it, is calculating gas to go in. You calculate bailout gas to get out and train bailout exits. Important thing is that you can hover perfectly and backward fin. You'll be spenging most of time with reel trying on/off and...

Swift Interference when using heated vest

Santi BZ400X with heated santi gloves = total 146W. Canister is SeaYa 41.4 ah one with dual outputs so can be additional 70w for light. Also have Scaleo Heat to change heating volume (0-25-50-75-100%). If heating is max and lamp on then usually signal drops. Also compass goes wild. Heating on 0...

Swift Interference when using heated vest

Happens to me and my buddy with CCR when we turn on heat (not always). It causes signal dropping. We are using old models. If you turn off heat, signal returns.

Sorb getting hard to find in USA?

It's the factory (maker of sofnolime) that has now upped the prices. Got few weeks ago info from supplier that bulk price is going up. It's bit on flux now but somewhere between 20%-200% price increase. I am stocking for 5 years now.

CO2 build up during 65m (210 ft) dive.

I do 2x 2,5 hour dives to 45-60 meters regulary on cold 4 degree water on same scrubber without any co2 problems. This is also common custom here. Some guys do even up to 8 hour dives with it. I don't think your scrubber usage was main point why you got co2 hit. I have had co2 build up in 5...

    Using transmitters on a rEvo

I just find better that way, because if for some reason you lull in swallow water before going deep it doesn't count CNS up. Well quite marginal, but still.

Why not have the Teric autoswitch setpoint to 1.3 like on 20 meters?

    Am i approaching this right

Did with JJ TDI Helitrox when started CCR diving. Course was HARD, but manageable. It took 6 daving days and 1.5 theory days. It is doable, but you really have give your all. I had OC Trimix diving before though. Decos are quite short with 45m dives, max 30 minutes. First dives after course we...

Teric owners, have you required repair or replacement service?

Had mine serviced again (3rd time) and buddy's for 1st time. Both with battery issue. Shearwater recommended not using fast change - maybe is the issue.
