Hey jimmer just give Dan's a call dan was a dealer for those when they were new and still has parts and manuals for them
My buddy chris still dives a set of mr12's he boght brand new from Dan's in 1975 ish great regs Still not as cool as a double hose tho
I now how you feel at 6.5ft the 7 ft hose is just about too short for me so for you it must be short.
couple things that i found that helped me out was usaing a piston reg gave me a little more length ie mk25/atomic. Better house routing gives you about 3-4 more inches over apeks or mk17...
The main pro to doing a naui course is that they offer and entry level course with helium and only dive nitrox to 130ft and helium after that .
Tdi advanced nitrox/deco procedures is an air/nitrox only course and is behind the times in that respect
I have very little experiance with deep air dives maybe 10 to 150 to 200ft range since i turn into a fool around 130ft on air.
But this is the way i look at it if your doing a deep air dive to 170 for 30 min Using a 50% mix at 70ft will spike you po2 to about 1.55 and will drive out unwated...
Well responding to this seems like a waste of time but i, bored so why not.
Mk25 is a good reg in my experiance with free flows with these first stages its usaly a second stage failure from those garbage plastic air tubs ie.S600/g250hp. Had many free flows even with my mk14 and mk17. But...
I find a 19cf bottle a little small for a pony bottle . i would look into somthing like a luxfer al30 and then sling it under your arm so the reg is easy to get at and tun on and off and see leaks as the happen . Reaching the valve is a big deal just incase sombody turned if off on the predive...
Well its relevant because allot of the divers they cater too are new and novice divers that walk out the door with a better product and a good understanding on the product they sell . Allot of divers come in wanting the jacket bc and leave with a bp/w for the same price or less that is a much...
They also actively sell long hose and bunged octo under the neck and also have some in rental. I think they are really ahead of the curve in offering. Good gear and being to pass along personal experiance. I really believe in the theory of starting with a fully kitted advanced cave/tech diver...
Well the only real info is another message board no real site up at the moment .I dont know if they are working on another site or not
www.Scubaontario.ca
I have read throgh this thread and i have to agree that most shops have an issue with selling bp/w but most are throgh "ingnorance" other than actual dollar. Our local shop sells about 70% backplates and wings from 5 manufactuers and about 30%bcd and usaly only by request and oppositon from the...
i second the m1 there the best reg out there by far. 1000 dives on my main reg love it been to 200ft in 38 deg water never had an issue. As for the legends there not bad but no were as refined as the m1
The big downside to the mk25 is cold water performance in the 40to50deg range it tends to freeze easyer than many other regs . I love the hose routing and easy breathing of the mk25 but i much prefer the Atomic m1 to the mk25 same hose routing and much better in cold water . As for a second...
Hey R2k2 these are the guys i deal with for atomic stuff there probly the best shop around for all brands of regs give them a call and talk to matt he will know that your talking about. They are a in st cathrines ontario canada . Matt the manager of the shop has done dive to 400ft+ in cold water...
As for single tank wings go. I think halcyon makes the best wings ie. quality and balance . I also like the older venture wing from diverite and the dss wing .
As for a single tank andapter i have a dive rite abs plastic one with the dive rite .The halcyon weighted single tank adapter is nice...
R2K2 there is somthings you can do to the atomics to make them better for cold water . The m1"s come with a heat sink on the second stage. but the other lines of atomic dont have it takes 10 minuts to install .
And always fallow cold water diving rules i think there is a post on here...
Welland scuba park is a good option, windmill and sherkston usaly close as soon as the ice hits but here in niagara we dive all year round even tho it mean just diving the scuba park
Glad you guys enjoyed the welland scuba park . The scuba parks vis is going to be getting better now till the ice hits last year when we were putting in the line to the attractions we had over 50 feet of vis on most day in late november and early dec.
AS for the Tim's situation being from...
