For Sale PST HP120s with bands, 7/8 valves

Hi all, I have two PST HP120 Scuba Tanks with bands. These are the old 3500psi ones so they have 7/8in valves. Also have a pair of OMS bands as well as a mount for a pony bottle. Tanks are out of VIP (done last summer by Diver Dan's) but have Hydro for about another year. Both still have...

For Sale Baer 8/7 and Hollis Rock Boots

Hi all, I have a BAER 8/7 semi dry in good but used condition. I bought it back in 2018 and used it for about a dozen dives. A little bit of dirt here and there but the zipper is in good condition and still has a good amount of life in it. Size MLT, I am 6'1 180 and it's snug. Probably better...

Bad memory? O2 Clean required for less than 40% nitrox

Haha, as someone who has worked in two very regulated industries a truer statement cannot be said.

Bad memory? O2 Clean required for less than 40% nitrox

Ah, that explains everything then. Thank you!

Bad memory? O2 Clean required for less than 40% nitrox

Hi All, Maybe my memory is failing me but I was under the impression that if you run less than 40% nitrox 02 cleaning is not required. For example my regs are not O2 clean and I happily run 30% all the time. This is what I recall from my training. The justification being is that the mix is not...

Best AL & ST Tanks failure Video, LMAO !!

It was a little sad seeing the 120s getting blown up. It is always entertaining seeing stuff get shot with a 50cal though so :). And we can always make more 120s.

For Sale Oceanic Delta 3 and DX4

Hi All, I have an Oceanic Delta 3 and DX4 for sale. Both stages will need a rebuild. I know that the second stage needs a new diaphragm cover. That said I have hooked these up and they did breath just fine. From what I can tell these were pretty high end at the time. Second stage is compact...

Lemon shark dives: Jupiter or West Palm.

I have not been on any specific shark dives however I have encountered them a couple of times on my dives from Jupiter and WPB. So far they mostly have kept to themselves and I would not have considered them threatening. Same applies to the other sharks I've seen so far. They mostly keep to...

Lemon shark dives: Jupiter or West Palm.

Awesome guys! I'll give PVD a call and see what they are doing. 12in is probably a bit too close for my comfort. Maybe keep it to at least 1 body length :)

Lemon shark dives: Jupiter or West Palm.

Hi all, I am going down to Florida in a week for work and hoping to squeeze some diving in. Hoping to see some Lemon Sharks as I hear this is the time of year for it. I was thinking of going out with either Jupiter dive center who I have used many time or Pura Vida which I have also been out...

    Streamlined Gear for AOW?

Depending on your time line I'm in Manchester CT and run a rig along the lines of what a lot of people say. You'd be welcome to come by and take a look at some point. Just send me a PM. Anyway I run a BP/W, 40in primary, Necklace October. I just clip my SMB off to a waste d-ring and then...

Fire on dive boat Conception in CA

I work in aerospace, not marine engineering so this may sound dumb. As has been mentioned for a new plane you have run cert tests with actual people to validate that exits work as designed. Is any sort of testing like that required for ships? Is there a break point (displacement, capacity...

Fire on dive boat Conception in CA

Ignore the cabinet for a moment. Even at let's say 20sec per person that is still 10min to egress everyone through that opening. That egress point does not seem adequate if the other is blocked due to fire and you have a packed boat. High pressure water must systems are pretty cool. Down side...

Dive vacations combined with garbage cleanup?

I've never seen anything specific but did this while I was in Miyako-jima with a buddy back in April. He was friends with the DM there and so it was more like just hanging out for us. That's about 15 garbage bags or so of expanded polystyrene and plastic bottles.

    Okinawa Diving

Prime Scuba is a great option on Ishigaki. I was sidelined due to a cold but my buddy was diving with them and it seemed really great. Zohar and Nico are both super cool. My buddy is actually close friends with Nico. I've heard good things about Pirhana but have not used them personally.

Diving In CT Long Island Sound

Where you are 100% get in touch with SECONN they do dives out that way weekly during the summer. Also Diver's Cove is a shop in Essex that does weekly dives out in that area. I've been in the Bridgeport area and will echo the comments about viz. Need to get out to the other end this summer...

    3mm Fullsuit time ... ScubPro/SubGear Definition vs. Waterproof W3

I tried a W3 LT. I am 6'2 and 175-180. I have pretty skinny arms and legs. The water proof wood have needed biceps and shoulders about 25-50% larger to fit well. Ended up with a Bare MLT (same as my 8mm) and it's pretty darn good.

    Hello from sunny Connecticut!

Tolls are probably coming back at this rate. Take a look at SECONN, they dive out near New London all summer. They are also running pool sessions this winter

Old OMS manifold still considered "safe"

Awesome discussion, thanks all. Here are some pictures to help address a few points. As I said in the original post with only 28 dives I'm a ways from doing serious tech. At most it will be ITT so I can learn about it and start developing good habits. Here as some better pictures of the...

Old OMS manifold still considered "safe"

So in my case I am lucky there since the guy sold the 120s banded with pressure in them. I split them apart since I wanted them for recreational use but I have all the parts to build them back up. Good info.
