    AA Primary/Secondary Dive Light Suggestions?

Good morning, Looking for lights that will accept AA rechargeable batteries like the Eneloop NiMH batteries I already have for non-diving camera external flashes. I live overseas and am subject to USPS not shipping lithium so ordering those awesome torches like the XTAR D26 1600 won't exactly...

    Orcatorch D800

Thanks for the reply, stuartv. It doesn’t appear the xtar d26 1600 is available on Amazon at the moment, but I’ll keep an eye out. The wife still needs a primary as well. Speaking of primary, isn’t 2000 lumens the unwritten standard of brightness for primaries?

    Orcatorch D800

Anyone have any experience with this torch? I'm new to deep diving, night diving, and diving in general. This looks like a pretty decent non-canister light as a primary for recreational diving. Also curious if using it out of water occasionally will lower its overall performance. Thoughts...

    First Stage: Keeping it Dry?

Question for everyone that has suggested rinsing while attached to tank with air on: Do you leave your reg connected to tank while departing the dive site and during the ride home or to dive shop with wash basin? Or disconnect it then reconnect it? I don't own tanks so I'd have to bring the...

    First Stage: Keeping it Dry?

Is it not common though, to be taught this way? Perhaps the divers using their tanks to dry the caps are doing so because they were taught that way and don’t see it as rude or obnoxious. I wouldn’t have known any better had it not been for this forum.

    First Stage: Keeping it Dry?

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking into replacing the factory plastic cap with rubber (yoke) for a better seal and avoid submersing the SP first stage. Appreciate all the feedback!

    First Stage: Keeping it Dry?

Interesting perspective, thank you. Perhaps I'll hang the first stage above the rubbermaid to allow the hoses and regulators to soak while I simply spray off the first stage. Thanks for the replies!

    First Stage: Keeping it Dry?

Thanks, RyanT. This is what I had in mind, but conflicts with what others recommend, which is why I'm here. What is an AI module? Both of our set-ups have a Suunto transmitter connected to a 6" HP hose. We both also have a brass and glass single SPG as a backup. I'm not sure I understand...

    First Stage: Keeping it Dry?

Hello all, new diver here. I have a few questions about keeping the first stage dry. My wife and I have two different types of first stages. Wife's is whatever comes with the Aqua Lung Core second stage, which I believe is the self sealing type. Shouldn't be an issue if soaked without cap in...

Suunto D4i Novo - Freshwater Setting?

Looking to purchase the D4i with transmitter, but recently read some old reviews that this computer doesn't have the option to select fresh water setting. Has this been updated with a firmware update or is salt water still the only option? Thanks!

    Aqua Lung i550

I recently purchased the i550 and mine was losing 5-6 minutes per day as well. Contacted Aqua Lung via email, rep wrote me back saying first they’ve heard of this issue and recommended replacement. LDS replaced hassle free. However, as of now, the new unit is fast by 35 seconds after only 4...
