I've been using an IDI Seaira TriMetal for years now -- yes, it is the same as the XS Scuba reg of the same name, and XS dealers service them without any problem. I love mine!

I'm going to a family wedding in the DC area in July and plan to do a detour with some friends to dive NC while there. If you wind up flexing the timing out to July, I'll throw in. Also hitting the northern Channel Islands the weekend after New Year's, I'll do cold if the timing works out...

I used this Bay Area Underwater Explorers site in setting mine up. A number of photos here show good details about where things should line up.

Certified initially at 21. I didn't dive much at all for years afterward because I didn't have the cash to get to the water!

I come out with the wrist of my undergarment damp sometimes, but as long as you set the seals properly you should be pretty close to bone dry.
