I don't believe anyone in this thread has said there is anything bad about rubber hoses. Nobody has even said they preferred flex hoses. Rubber hoses continue to work just fine, but there's no disputing that flex hoses have properties that rubber doesn't that some people would like to have.

According to every source I've found all the hoses manufactured after 2010 no longer have problems.

Just picked up a set (primary and octo) on Ebay (used once in freshwater pool). Looks like a solid set so far, will chime in with more when I have a chance to dive them.
