My Wife is finally giving Scuba a try - what can I do to help her succeed?

if she is excited about the discover scuba, she will do the OW course with out local instructor (who she likes and did well with in the SSI pool session) trying to not push her too fast.

My Wife is finally giving Scuba a try - what can I do to help her succeed?

My Wife is finally giving Scuba a try - what can I do to help her succeed?

besides stay away and don't butt in between her and the instructor that is... she _LOVES_ snorkeling, is very comfortable in the water and has been on the verge of taking the OW course several times only for injuries requiring surgery to interfere... she is finally healthy and just took the...

    Deep6 Signature

Just received my new Deep6 Signature 1st and 2nd stages which I will be replacing my Mares MR22 Abyss setup with. my main reasons for replacing the Mares setup were hose routing (mainly the downward pointing HP ports interfering with my wing) and ongoing and seemingly unfixable (by multiple...

    new second stage recommendations

ok, I ordered an IP pressure gauge. apparently the IP pressure is supposed to be 142-148psi so I'll check that. at this point I don't have a lot of faith in my dive shop's regulator service guy, and apparently he is the guy for all the dive shops in the area, just goes to each shop on demand...

    new second stage recommendations

I have a Mares MR-22 Abyss reg set (pre ruby), about 20 years old and recently the second stage has been constantly dribbling air rather than shutting off airflow when I'm not inhaling. I've had it serviced 3 times including a complete rebuild and it is still happening (although not as badly)...

    Reef House Lodge

I went there (in 2019, it may have been my trip report you saw). I really liked it there, very quiet, great divemaster (Davit) never went the same place twice, diving much farther east than cocoview generally goes most days where the reef gets a lot less traffic, rarely saw another dive boat...

Trip Report St Croix Mid-May 2021

airport was easy inbound, painful outbound. the customs/TSA setup is slow, and the departure area is under renovation and a real clusterf... get there at least 2 hrs before your flight. I rented at Avis, no line, no issues, nice new nissan rogue. rental car dropoff is a long walk from the...

Trip Report St Croix Mid-May 2021

driving on the wrong side of the road was not really an issue for me, I've been to Japan and England and drove american cars/trucks there so the double wrong (wrong side of road + wrong side steering wheel) was familiar. felt natural after the second day. saw 3 mongoose, didn't get any pics...

We were there for a week, stayed at Club St Croix just west of downtown Christiansted. we toured pretty much the whole island by car, looked at building lots, ate out a lot. Wife is having severe back problems so a lot of the activities we had planned had to be cancelled (horse riding, snookah...
