Fire on dive boat Conception in CA

I doubt you can 100% determine the cause of death from "unrecognizable" bodies and I believe that's reasonable.

Fire on dive boat Conception in CA

The question is how you determine the cause of death for all 33 of them without a single autopsy beyond reasonable doubt. It's not gossiping.

Fire on dive boat Conception in CA

This video is actually misleading. If you watch carefully, you would notice at 1:16, the camera shaked and then cut. Since 1:17 it is a totally new video clip. I do believe the fire spread quickly, but not that fast.

Distress calls, mourning and search for answers: How the California boat fire unfolded "3:15 a.m. A distress call is made to the Coast Guard. Authorities later said a call was made from the Conception and others from the Great Escape. In audio of a call on Broadcastify that authorities...

Fire on dive boat Conception in CA

It took me the whole day to read 651 posts......because I was planning to go on THIS trip. Anyway, I thought fires alway burn upwards. So if galley caught fire, crews on the bridge should feel the heat first. I can't imagine the fire could engulf the whole galley and the stairwell before any of...

    Hurghada vs Sharm

Planning for next summer trip to Egypt. Will visit Cairo and Luxor. What will be my best bet for 2-3 days of diving and snorkeling? As there is no direct flight between Luxor and Sham, I lean towards Hurghada but is the diving experience comparable? I have just comleted OW course and done...

That's exactly how I felt. BTW where do you fly from? Southwest is great but still rather expensive from SFO to Caribbean. I saw most flights are from Ft Lauderdale or Houston.

I heard red sea is fantastic many times but also heard terrorist stories... especially where westerners go... Any relatively quiet places along Egypt coast? I gues the less popular the safer?

I am from SFO. Will be with my wife. Try to stay under $3K per week for 2 of us. And try to avoid multi stop flights.

Learned from another thread that Bonaire diving package is really cheap..$175 per week unlimited diving. However I found room and board are quite expensive.. Adds up to about $1000 per week. Is that right? So my theory that diving cost is proportional to living cost doesn't work here.......

How about Aruba? ABC has been on my list for many years but just too far. Similar time and more expensive than flying to Southeast Asia. But definitely will try. I have been snorkelling in many places of Caribbean, Roatan, Caye Caulker, St Lucia, St. Thomas, Cozumel. Didn't feel as good as in...

I mean the cost per dive. For example, in California it's about $120 per dive while in Tulamben it's about $20. I figure other travel costs are more or less proportional to dive cost. Would you mind sharing what liveaboards and where it was?

Just got my OW certificate in Tulamben. Would like to see the world (making bucket list...)! Of course, Tulamben is good and we plan to go back again. Please suggest other sites for beginners with less concerns of current, rough sea/wind, freezing cold water, visibility, depth, etc. Must...
