The problem with the solo diver or self reliant course is the requirement for 100 dives. I got my basic dive cert in 1975 but only have 32 recent dives under my belt so that is not an option for me now. Thanks for the thought, though.

If you are looking for a dive shop in Playa del Carmen, I would recommend WetOwls. A small shop but big on personal service. I am going back to Playa in December and look forward to seeing Christine and Jhair again. After using them once, I wouldn't use anyone else.
