Question Where to watch the Superbowl?

Wherever you go, get a reservation before gameday. We got locked out one time. We actually ended up at the little bar at Los Otates one year...it was pretty nice. Had the whole bar to ourselves for the first half.

    Restaurant recommendations for dinner?

Janie, When my wife and I go (2 weeks) we usually budget about $600.00 per week. That included eating, drinking, and 1/2 rental car (3 or 4 days...we split the car with another couple). We go out for breakfast about half the time, one NICE dinner (Kinta, usually). The rest are taco joints or...

    Covid testing in Cozumel

For sure! See how the numbers in New York and LA have plummeted since all the lockdowns started? My wife and I both had Covid over Christmas. We joined the 99.98% Covid Survivors Club. Masks didn't keep us from getting it.

    Covid testing in Cozumel

"I would make sure that I confirmed that before traveling. The people checking docs in foreign countries may not be that well informed." Yeah, I will confirm with the airline. "you might want to get the antibody test." Wasn't planning on that, but I'll be talking to my Doc soon. We are...

    Covid testing in Cozumel

I may have found my answer. From the CDC website... COVID-19 and Your Health If you have had a positive viral test in the past 3 months, and you have met the criteria to end isolation, you may travel instead with documentation of your positive viral test results and a letter from your...

    Covid testing in Cozumel

I never went for a test after my symptoms cleared, to get a "Negative". Wouldn't they say "Well that was too long ago...you may have it now.". Wasn't worried about that documentation until yesterday. Yes, everything related to Covid has become nonsensical.

    Covid testing in Cozumel

I don't know if we have any CDC experts here, but here goes. This text is from the CDC website... Trip Advisor said the same thing. It was based on the Mayor's (Governor's ?) Facebook page. I cannot verify, as work has Facebook blocked.

    Areas to avoid?

We've been coming to Cozumel for about 10 years. We are not divers, just tourists. We usually don't rent a car, we walk everywhere, sometimes take a cab. We've always stayed West of 30 Ave. As far North as Calle 14, and as far South as Calle 17. Never had any problems, we have always felt safe.

ATV or buggy rental, daily/weekly not day trip

Try HTL...just a couple doors down from Kinta. Not positive, but I think they may rent them. I rented a Jeep from them last year. Good price no hassle.

    New name of Los Otates

We've always loved the food, but we're becoming bigger fans of the bar. We've nicknamed it "Omar's"...After the owner/manager, and after an old bar in our hometown. Nay is a great bartender, and you can order food right from the bar. Reasonable drink prices.

    doggie bags

I work at a folding carton manufacturer. We are currently working on a recyclable "Pooper Scooper". Made of recycled board, comes in two sizes. It's like a cardboard "claw" that you use to pick up Fido's droppings. Then toss the whole thing in the trash. 100% biodegradable. We'll see how...

    Squashing the Rumors

Christi, I've never dove, I've never met you, but you sound like an amazing person. Some tips from a Wisconsin resident... 1. Don't cheer for the Vikings... they are evil. Skol is a dirty word. 2. Cicopo said it best. Dress for warmth, NOT for fashion. 3. Dress in layers. 4. Make sure...

    No More Plastic Grocery Bags

Not worried so much about shopping, as we usually use reusable bags anyway. Our concern is the bathroom trash can liners. We are considering bring bags from home just for that purpose. We won't get nabbed by the "Plastic Bag Police", will we?
