DIR- GUE GUE fundamentals, tec pass?

Sorry about that. I think everything was really great and I'm definitely a better diver with better dive theory knowledge, better trim, buyancy control and a working helicopter kick. Unfortunately no matter how hard I tried I could not make my back kick work and the stress of not getting it...

Why do you guys think rec 3 is terrible?

DIR- GUE GUE fundamentals, tec pass?

After reading all the experiences shared on scubaboard I was ready not to receive a pass at all. I'm quite happy with the rec pass, the experience with doubles and all the in-water improvements. While the tec pass might have to wait I'm considering the rec 3 course as an introduction to tec.

DIR- GUE GUE fundamentals, tec pass?

Good news, I received a rec pass. I completed the swim test in the ocean in 13:30 while being out of shape and with no training. I almost died, sure, but did it. Hahaha Next step is to train a little more to get the upgrade to tec pass. Thank you all for the advice.

Somehow I can't comment on the thread I created: DIR- GUE - GUE fundamentals, tec pass? It shows me (You have insufficient privileges to reply here.) instead of a reply form. Is it some sort of restriction on my account? Thanks.

DIR- GUE GUE fundamentals, tec pass?

I'm not really in a hurry to progress to the next course but I want to push hard for improvements in technique and knowledge. To be honest I think I'll have problems with the swim test since I've been out of a track pool for about 20 years, I'm out of shape and my cardio got hit by not being...

DIR- GUE GUE fundamentals, tec pass?

My instructor told me he doesn't care if I use doubles or not so I think its just a matter of trim / task loading issues. Since my current recreational setup is sidemount and I decided to go the GUE track exclusively for tech training, I'm reaching the conclusion it would be counterproductive to...

DIR- GUE GUE fundamentals, tec pass?

One of the main components of trim is weight distribution, which could require, depending on the configuration, new fins. I worry that by using doubles and a 5mm wetsuit I will have to replace my quattro style fins for a shorter, stiffer and heavier one. Should I bring randomly picked tech fins...

Could you explain what makes the class physically, mentally and emotionally demanding?

DIR- GUE GUE fundamentals, tec pass?

Thanks, I'll try to emphasize the back kick part during training.

DIR- GUE GUE fundamentals, tec pass?

Thanks, it makes sense. I suppose the doubles would be my one major equipment mod.

DIR- GUE GUE fundamentals, tec pass?

Thanks for the heads up. What would you say is the hardest part to achieve the tech pass? Or in other words, what held you and your buddies back from getting it?

DIR- GUE GUE fundamentals, tec pass?

I'm starting to pursue a technical diving training and one possibility is to migrate to GUE. With GUE I would have to start with a GUE fundamentals class and it appears that I could try to get either the rec pass or the tec pass (with doubles). I wonder if it would be a good idea to try the...

Agency with best online technical training?

Sure, I agree with the overall idea. My bad experience was just amplified by the fact the guy is a course director and not, for example, an instructor just out of DM.

Agency with best online technical training?

It would be great, sure, but probably more on the expensive side due to travel costs.

Agency with best online technical training?

Not at all. I want the best training possible but I'm ok with the possibility that the instructor I select in my area, for lack of other options, might not be that great.
