XS Scuba Manifold / Valve Bonnet nut oring size

In case anyone else comes across this old thread in their search for an answer, a size is 113 will work. Not a perfect match though as the original is slightly smaller in cross section.

Which of these would be good for my garage?

Of those choices, Alkin. But order direct from Alkin US as they’ll set it up how you want. Coltri (Nuvair) and Bauer also make light duty units that will work for your purposes. Avoid anything from Amazon/ebay.

    Who is diving after Covid?

My doc wasn‘t the least bit concerned about a return to diving, and no, I was given a chest x-ray. Maybe because the newest variants of COVID aren’t much different than the common cold.

    Who is diving after Covid?

I was back in the water 3 weeks later. Fairly benign dives, less than 100 feet with under 10 minutes of deco. No discernible difference from prior.

Haskel Mini Sport for filling AL40 / AL80 Deco Cylinders?

@mdwalter and @lermontov Thanks for your input. To clarify, am looking for real world experice specifically with the Haskel Mini Sport booster and time it would take for creating simple EAN or 100% O2 deco gasses. Let's use a hypothetical scenario. I have an empty AL40 want to create an...

Haskel Mini Sport for filling AL40 / AL80 Deco Cylinders?

Thanks guys. The compressor is an HP scuba compressor and I have a set of HP 117s. My idea was to hook up and run the compressor on one valve of the doubles, and hook up the booster to a regulator on the other valve so the compressor can fill the doubles as they drive the booster. Sounds like...

Haskel Mini Sport for filling AL40 / AL80 Deco Cylinders?

Hi All, I know the Haskel Mini Sport is well liked for filling small rebreather cylinders, but does anyone have experience using this to fill AL40 or AL80 deco cylinders with oxygen? I'm trying to determine if this will work for the occasional fill (3-4 cylinders per year) when I can't get a...

My initial thoughts on my new compressor

@jlcnuke I think you said you run this compressor in your garage, correct? Out of curiosity, what has the ambient temperature been in the garage when running the compressor?

    OMS LP85, any good?

They are rebranded Fabers. About neutral when close to empty, and get a little butt light at the end of the dive.

    Shorter singles wing

The VDH wings are substantially shorter than the oxycheqs. Downright tiny.

    Advice on Wing/BP brands

Not every BC removal involves an emergency. Diving from a rigid inflatable boat would be one circumstance I can think of off the top of my head where removing the BC prior to re-entering the boat would be necessary.

    Oceanic Geo 4.0 review

Hi all, since I started this thread I wanted to give a quick update with some long term ownership info. First off, I wanted to address using the Geo 4 for planned decompression diving with accelerated deco. It will work; however it is not a great tool for this. The main problem is that gas...

Maui trip report end of Jan / beg of Feb 2021

Ah, in front of the Kapalua Villas. I could see that being a tricky entry. Surf was 6-8 feet every day when we were there in October a few years back.

How deep have you taken your HOG reg?

Does a mixed set count? I dove some atomic firsts with Hog Zenith seconds to 153' on air. Aside from the usual feeling of air being thicker at those depths, the regs were just as smooth as any other depth.

Solved: Should There Be A Forum Dedicated to Trip Reports?

Have a look at Adventure Rider for another idea. The first two forums are for trip reports; one for big trips and the other for smaller rides.

    Subaru Outback ( ~2019 2.5 vs 3.6)

I have never felt like the 2.5 lacked for power. With the CVT trans it will still accelerate quite quickly. Averaging 30+ mpg (sometimes 34) on the highway doesn’t hurt either. To me, the 3.6 wasn’t worth the premium price.

one piece vs 2 piece wetsuits

Why not? I wore my 7mm Mako on some 150' dives a couple of months back. I was perfectly comfortable with bottom temps in the low 50s. Deco stops starting at 80ft had temps in the low 60s to 70s, and I was toasty by the time I got back on the boat.
