Sold! Mares Quad Dive Computer - Black

Excellent condition. Only 2 hours (112 minutes) of dive time, 15 recorded dives (only 1 actual dive plus some tests in the pool/spring). Battery still shows 100%. Bought for my wife after getting certified, but she stopped diving after her first dive. :-( Trimmed the strap so it may not be...

Any rumors on the Garmin descent mk3 display?

Garmin just released a new MK2 software which includes an in-dive gas change improvement (no idea if it addresses the noted concern)... https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/descent-mk2-mk2i/351870/system-software-22-00

Trip Report Pro Divers - St. Kitts

I also had a great experience with Pro Divers St Kitts, did a dive trip during a Celebrity Cruise stop.

Closest Spring to dive from Orlando Florida

Blue Spring is the closest. Not much to see, small 60 foot deep large elevator sized shaft, then 1/4 mile ish drift dive in 5-10 feet. Alexander Springs probably next closest. The prettiest spring in the area, 25 foot deep bowl, but not much else. In both cases, in the summer you have to get...

? Prevent Zebra Mussel / Invasive Species Fresh Water Cross-Contamination

Hot water is the protocol in the marine industry... "Hot water is an effective disinfection agent for all aquatic invasive species and fish diseases. Soak all equipment in water that is at least 140 degrees F for 30 seconds." https://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/50267.html

New Garmin Dive Computer: Descent G1

Even though documentation is sparse, I do think it is an intentionally included feature specific to the dive watches. As far as I am aware (I've worn every Fenix model from the 5 to the Epix 2), none of the other surface focused watches react to a gesture by switching screens during an...

New Garmin Dive Computer: Descent G1

I think the MK2S (the MK2 does) has the gesture feature (flip your wrist) to change dive screens.

    Diving off cruise ship?

How much time in port is enough? I have an upcoming cruise with a day in St Kitts from 8am to 5pm and was planning to book direct (with Pro Divers St Kitts as it looks like they are used to accomodating cruise visitors).

Computer reads 1 ft at surface - normal?

I went for a (6ft) dive in the pool to watch readings at different levels, and the depth was off. It was generally within about a foot, but when I kept it at the bottom of the pool (exactly 6 feet) it would fluctuate between 4 and 6 feet (dead calm water), and logged a max depth of 7.3 feet...

Computer reads 1 ft at surface - normal?

Got a very prompt reply from Seac, below. Sounds like it automatically calibrates periodically to atmospheric pressure, so hopefully good to go... "The pressure sensor could be sometimes sensible to external pressure. It should reset automatically but of after reset is ok you won’t have any...

Computer reads 1 ft at surface - normal?

Could be. It was on, I think technically in sleep mode. It didn't have to boot up when I took it out of the package, just hit a button and the screen lit up. The shipping container was a little beat up (they used a cheap plastic envelope instead of splurging on a cardboard box!).

Computer reads 1 ft at surface - normal?

Emailed Seac for feedback, will post back when they respond.

Computer reads 1 ft at surface - normal?

I did a soft reset (via the watch screens, did not remove batteries) and now it is reading perfectly. 0 feet at the surface and within a few inches at depth down to 6 feet (bottom off pool). There are no altitude/pressure adjustments available on the watch.

Computer reads 1 ft at surface - normal?

Just got a new Seac Screen dive computer (first computer I have purchased), and right out of the box it reads 1 foot while on the surface. Tested it in the pool (only 6 feet deep) and it consistently reads 1 foot too deep. I would expect some minor amount of tolerance underwater, but an error...

    Garmin Descent MK2

There are lots of options (street, satellite, terrain, bike paths, nautical, etc) for free Garmin compatible maps (many are probably better than the Garmin version) for anywhere in the world. Check out the link below. Installation is very easy, there are several detailed tutorials on the web...

    Garmin Descent MK2

I've survived tons of tumbles on waterskis, wakeboards, etc with the Fenix over the years with no issues (knock on wood). I think the band attachment system is at least as secure as the others out there.
