    RIP Dr Eugenie Clark

I was a student of hers back in the mid 80's and did some research diving with her up until the early 90's. It's hard to express in words what she meant to the marine environment and the world as a whole. It was a privilege to know her... there is a link at the end of this article if anyone...

Is it worth it to use the ZS3 as a UW camera?

This camera can do a decent job if you learn to play with it's settings to compensate for lack of some manual features. I also find that the TTL on my ys-01 doesn't work with this camera so I also set manual strobe output. Here's one of my favorites i've taken with the setup.......

    vacuum cleft

Thanks for the responses so far...... my whole foot and lower leg went numb.... started as pins and needles (which I get when I sit cross legged for too long). I straightened the leg out, tried to stand on it for a while on a moving boat in choppy water etc... but lost all feeling below the...

    vacuum cleft

I recently suffered a nerve compression incident after a 3 dive day. Lost all feeling in my lower leg from the knee down for over an hour. It completely resolved itself as soon as the boat got back to shore and I stepped down in the sand. I have a history of lower back pain and degenerative...

DS-TTL for a Sea and Sea strobe

Yep... overexposure is what is happening when I trigger the strobe through the diffuser.

DS-TTL for a Sea and Sea strobe

I have a Panasonic TZ7/ZS3 in a panasonic oem housing. I just got a S&S YS-01 strobe and was working on adapting the fiber optic cable to the housing. I know Inon makes a $30 cap for this but I figured I could use the generic velcro end and just plaster it on the housing. The housing doesn't...

Question on Housing for Lumix Zs7

UPDATE: Adapting the sync cord to the diffuser allows the strobe to fire... but the Sea and Sea TTL doesn't work through it. It seems to work fine when I hold the cord directly over where the flash fires. I'm making a couple of vimaldude adapters before I head out diving at the end of the...

    ZS3/ZS7 Housings

Shot at about 90ft. .....and no tigers. I counted 7 different species of shark on the 2 dives.. truly amazing.

    ZS3/ZS7 Housings

I agree 2 handles are better than 1, but 1 is better than none. Here's some video I shot using the panny housing with just 1 handle. Shark Dive-Beqa Lagoon http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6GYuPpAB-E

Question on Housing for Lumix Zs7

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. FYI... if you already have a fiber optic cable you can buy just the W35 adapter. Reef Photo sells it for $30. I just adapted the diffuser to take a generic velcro attachment end. I used some double sided sticky foam/tape. 3M makes it but I don't...

TZ10/ZS7 lens speed - too slow?

Here's some of my work with a TZ7 and pany housing without an external strobe. You can judge for yourself..... ScubaBoard Gallery - Fiji 2010

    PNG advice please

I'm trying to figure out the most "economical" way to get to PNG from the east coast. Does anybody have flight/hotel suggestions for getting there? I'm ultimately ending up in Alotau onboard the Star Dancer. In addition.... what's the weather/water like in early April in Milne Bay?

    ZS3/TZ7 Photos

I've just posted a handful of photos taken with my ZS3 in the pany housing. No external strobe yet. I used the underwater setting and/or the internal strobe. The wide angle shots are taken with the underwater setting. ScubaBoard Gallery - Fiji 2010 Enjoy......
