I stayed at Sorido Bay, which is right around the corner to the Cape Kri dive site, a 5-minute boat ride, but is very tide dependent. It is a full service resort.
For $100 per day, the best you might get is dive camping. Cheapest is not always the best. You get what you pay for. Maybe the...
I'm glad this turned out well for you. The Siren Fleet, Master Liveaboards, and the now bankrupt Blue O Two has been a shady operation at least since 2020. I had two liveaboards booked with Siren to Palau and Tubbataha in May of 2020. They canceled the trips for the obvious reason of covid...
IMO, the two forums you listed are too broad for the reader to find vital information about liveaboard companies. When someone is trying to research a specific company, there is no better way to find it than a forum where people share their negative experiences. This could also be a place to...
Dressel Divers (DD) is a big cattle boat operation. I've recently dived with them and they have 8 divers per DM. With four boats and 20-30 divers per boat, they're taking all those divers to the same site each trip., two boats each leaving 15 minutes apart. They operate on a fixed schedule...
There are a lot of negative experiences in our community with the liveaboard companies, and it seems to be worse since 2020. How about a separate forum that gathers information in one place here from divers' bad experiences with liveaboard companies and high-volume online brokers like...
Sorry for your experience. I believe one of your shipmates posted his/her experience too. This is such a bad story to hear and, of course, it's the Aggressor brand. Please feel free to post here Larry Speaker's email address and phone number. You never know who may want to call him. :wink...
I'm reading this and I feel so bad for you. Everything went wrong for you and Aggressor didn't even make an effort to salvage anything out of the trip. Please feel free to post here Larry Speaker's phone number and email address. Undercurrent.org is another forum you can post your...
What I pay in shipping costs and the higher price in Euro or Pounds would negate any savings. I'm only looking in Australia because I'll be there and won't have to incur shipping and the U.S. dollar is stronger against AUD.
The U.S. dollar is stronger against AUD. Maybe it's a myth, but when I run into divers from other parts of the world, I hear that U.S. dive equipment is the most expensive.
I'm returning in March 2025, this time on the White Manta, largely because of the positive feedback from SB members, and there are few quality liveaboards with the low 20% single supplement/penalty. I hope to go back every year.
What a great show! I should have had some popcorn! Thanks for putting in the locations and fish I.D. I saw many of those critters for my first trip to RA last December, but didn't know what they were called. Great job!
I do photography for fun, nothing hard core. I've been looking for a video light that has a red setting for night diving. So when I found this one with all these colors, why not. Obviously, I know what the white light does. I'm assuming UV is for fluorescent diving. I don't know what the...
I'm flying to Fiji next week on Fiji Airways SFO to NAN then NAN to Taveuni (TVU). My bags won't be checked through to TVU, so I have to retrieve them in NAN and recheck them at TVU. My concern is the low allowance for a carry-on at 15 pounds. I have a reduced-size, cheap roller carryon that...
