I have a lot of difficulty seeing the very small numbers on the Safety Stop on my Cressi Leonardo. I keep it as a back up computer & use my Mares Puck Pro regularly (it has much larger numbers). They seem to be the same size to me.

Just FYI, some of my friends from Minnesota get some great round trip NON-STOP flights from Minneapolis to Cozumel at certain times of the year on Sun Country Airlines. Lots of affordable lodging, diving, etc. in Cozumel. Lots of info available on the Cozumel forum.

Hiring a private dive is an excellent idea, at least for your first few days. You will likely be on the boat with the group but you & your private guide will do your own dive. He will be with you at all times, going at your pace, & you do not have to be concerned about staying with a group. I...

Good luck. I hope you can complete your certification then just start enjoying some easy dives. All the skills will get easier with the more diving you do. Hiring a private dive guide on vacation diving has really helped me too in the past.

I second the advice to definitely get trip insurance. There is always the possibility of a hurricane that time of year.

Just fyi, Secrets has been getting some pretty bad reviews lately……

Dive Palancar can pick you up at the Secrets pier & they can rinse/store your gear at the snorkel kiosk at Secrets for you & bring it to/from boat for you.

I haven’t used Dive House but I’m pretty sure they offer gear storage. I prefer Dive Palancar, also on site at Secrets just North of Secrets pier at snorkle kiosk. DP does an excellent job of gear rinse/storage & bring it to/from Secrets pier for you. Their boat is smaller than Dive House &...
