    Hello

Welcome to the board man! I got certified May 17th, so not long after you did. How have your dives been going?

    Gloves

Yes, in place of neoprene/thermoprene... unless you're trying to keep your hands warm... I had friends dive with industrial kevlar gloves, they cost $50-$70 and they last a long while. Here in Florida, barnacles are everywhere, as well as oysters and mussels, etc. If you hold on to a rock with...

    Gloves

I put my gloves on before the dive, when I'm still dry. Gloves, especially the neoprene/thermoprene onces are a PITA when your hands are wet... If you have to put yours on underwater, buy yourself a pair of walmart construction or automotive gloves. They are dirt cheap and the hard rubber lasts...

When to do a safety stop?

No but seriously. I was reading the first half and I'm like, that's wrong, it doesn't work that way... what did you think I mean?

When to do a safety stop?

I think that was the study. I remember it was done in Europe. But the information in my first comment is correct though. If you stayed past 60 feet or at that level for long enough, it is strongly recommended to do a deep stop, but mark my words, not forced/or necessary. Read my first comment...

When to do a safety stop?

I read the study a good while ago. I just dont remember much so dont expect me to accurately recall info lol

When to do a safety stop?

No it's not even a computer algorith. It is a legitimate, physical study done on divers in late 1980s by ... im pretty sure, may be wrong... the american and french navy

When to do a safety stop?

Yeah exactly. I tried finding the study but i cant. Basically, it averaged the tissues and one deep stop + safety stop turned out to be the way to go. But its not that important if you didnt stay down long enough

When to do a safety stop?

I read a study that says that gas escapes tissues at exponential levels based on depth and pressure. So if your max depth was 60 feet and you stay there for 30 minutes, you will have to stay at 30 feet for 5 minutes min. and then stay at 15 feet for atleast 3 to ensure that the gas levels in...

When to do a safety stop?

Yes. Deep stop. I mean, it is a safety stop just half the total depth.

When to do a safety stop?

I realized I did not phrase myself correctly, so I edited my post earlier... idk why it did not save the first time so I edited it again... My dive computer doesn't lock out I did not say that. Safety stops are recommended... I said that too.

When to do a safety stop?

I changed it again... I mean, my dive computer is set to tell me to do the safety stops... because you know, better safe than sorry.
