with the older cameras...2000 and 3000 series and not sure about the 4040.... I think you need to send the camera back to Olympus for the fix ... pixel Mapping.....I guess it was common that they decided to make it (pixel mapping) a feature on the newer cameras.

Ted ....That’s interesting .... Only because of that thread over on DD about Spot vs. iESP ...... I'll have to play with the sharpness levels now ......Although in general I get very sharp photos :confused:

Ted smilies to the left when you compose your response .....just click on the one you want.... The cropping bit ..... The photo staff at the place I went was fantastic ...... they printed several pictures over as they felt they had not aligned properly...... She even went through my 5x7...

As for the update I would think the camera would need to go back to Olympus ..... "is it a big a deal" ... depends on what the update was for .... like ssra says I posted the question over on DD ..... If I recall I think a few have had an update ..... I think I recall reading that cameras...

Oh ..... I'm curious about the batteries also..... i.e. differences in mAh and the battery you speak of ...... I recall using that lithium battery in the 3040 .... worked long and hard but don’t recall how it acted toward the end of its life..... I do remember its to expensive
