Canary Islands (Lanzarote) Ideas and/or Recommendations

Just did my last dive with Salva. The guy is great, super friendly and knowledgeable. He can talk about gear, dive sites and diving stories for hours! Exactly my type of guy! He was super flexible with time, the groups were small. We were usually 4 and once we were 6. The rental gear was in...

It's good the don't speak Danish as i am originally Greek :D Did you rent the gear from there? If so, how was their condition? What suit did you dive with in October? I guess the same questions for you too :D Did you rent the gear from there? If so, how was their condition? What suit did you...

Canary Islands (Lanzarote) Ideas and/or Recommendations

It doesn't really matter where we are staying, we will have a car so we can drive anywhere. But it will be in a small place close to Tias :) Did you have a good experience with any dive center? What were your favourite dive spots? I saw they have a "blue hole" that looks interesting. Did you...

Canary Islands (Lanzarote) Ideas and/or Recommendations

Almost half a year later, but i am taking my chances. I am going to Lanzarote on January for 8 days and i would like to dive at least half of them. There are so many dive centers but i would like to go to one that is trully good. Any recommendations from the ones who have been there? (Also...

Question Suunto Eon Core - Tank Pod Battery Replacement Kit?

Yeah, that's my problem. When i changed the battery of my Suunto Vyper Novo the first time it wasn't too tight and the second it was too tight and a screw broke :banghead:

Question Suunto Eon Core - Tank Pod Battery Replacement Kit?

Hi, sorry for hijacking your question. I was wondering when you changed the battery on your own, did your pressure test it afterwards? I got a new pod for my Vyper Novo 2 years ago and i have less than 100 dives with it. When i bought it the battery was dead so they changed it for free. But now...

Apeks regs not serviced for 8 years

Thank you all for your replies, you've been really helpful! I got them and they look in a good condition, i found a dive shop to service them for $150 and the spare FSR i will try to service it myself either by following a course or a video so that i step by step learn how to service my own...

Apeks regs not serviced for 8 years

Yeah, that's where my "Where is the catch?" questions came up. I thought maybe after so many years of being unserviced and stored they may be non fixable. Or maybe there are specific things i should check before buying them. Shouldn't i get a course for that? I would be very interested in...

Apeks regs not serviced for 8 years

Hi all, I am in a huge dillema and i need your experience! I have a DST XTX50 XTX40 setup already and i am super happy with it. My missus just got her OW and we were looking for a used regulator set. I found a person that sells two XTX200 1st and 2nd stage. They have 10 dives but last service...

    Broken screw removal

So i went to a dive shop to see if it could be fixed there but they sent it to SUUNTO in Hungary. The cost was 1299 danish kroner (175 euros) but i guess a profit for the dive shop is included. Could be cheaper if i sent it on my own, that's like half of what i paid for it. Expensive mistake(s)...

    Broken screw removal

Thank you all for your replies. I agree that whatever i try to do is risky, so i will send it back to SUUNTO for them to check it and tell me a price. If they cannot do it i will try to find a watch shop, otherwise i will glue it and do 70 more dives with it until it's Perdix o'clock.

    Broken screw removal

Hi all, i did something stupid and i would like some input in case someone had the same experience and got out of it. I have a Suunto Vyper Novo and after 3 years it was about time to change the battery. I decided to do it on my own cause .... why not! I got the Suunto Kit and changed the...

Regulator service - Do you get what you pay for?

Can anyone get classes for servicing regs? I bought my Apeks regs last year and i would like to service them next summer, it would be interesting if i could do that on my own.

    My first incident...

Yes, i can confirm that. But still not sure what is worse for the gear. Salt or chalk? I always choose to rinse my gear after a dive and always check it before the dive as once after a month of being inactive my primary was stuck when exhaling and air wasn't going out. It was fixed by exhaling...
