when i started diving i simply chummed, rinsed my mouth with seawater and went on. even mild surge would make me seriously motion sick and i would remain sick for hours once back on solid ground. Then transdermal scopolamine patches came on the market and were near miraculous in curing my motion...
i am a dinosaur. i started diving in 1973 have well over 200 dives and a computer of any kind was just a dream for much of my time underwater. i am with Bob who said the best question is "Can you properly plan a dive?". A dive computer is a wonderful and adaptable tool that can more accurately...
i modified another sheath to extend the webbing slot (Dremel to lower limit of slot and kydex blank to fill the gap, ss allen head screws to secure). it gives me a rigid setup which is what i wanted. we'll see how much it pokes me in the side--i am not as slim as i once was!
i have a blunt end knife that was an extra i wanted to use, vertically on the belt. but the shoulder strap might work. thank you! (and yes, my belly is getting smaller, but it is still a bit "rounder" than the rest of me!)
Switching to a backplate from a jacket BCD and having a heck of a time finding a knife with a sheath that will slide over 2 inch webbing. (on the belt mount) any suggestions?
For sale is a used Galileo Luna with a transmitter and IR link for PC. includes battery replacement packs for the computer and the transmitter and a bungee replacement wrist strap. i have used it on 3 dives and it works well, except my eyes aren't what they used to be and reading the screen is...
i started using a weight belt with a spring-loaded buckle. the real purpose is to keep the belt tight when you descend and the wetsuit compresses, but i find that it seems to keep the weights from shifting as well.
emedicine.medscape.com has a good article, Carotid Sinus Hypersensitivity. Pressure stimulation of the carotid baroreceptors (to either side of the trachea in the neck) can cause a drop both in blood pressure and heart rate. With an already low blood pressure, your buddy is probably at an...
i am new to the NeoTek, but i have had no problems with the zipper. it certainly is much easier to start, run, finish and open than the monster in my Bare Trilam drysuit.
Hello. I have a new Hollis NeoTek suit and i am wondering if there is a trick to getting the lycra section that goes over your head smoothed out down your back? (other than asking a buddy to do it). can you feel the tubing and hardware with a p-valve installed?--comfort?
I am wearing a Bare Trilam HD suit. Maybe I just need to get over wanting to be vertical at the surface? Under the water, indeed horizontal is where I want to be.
