    G250 parts question

Hi Couv, I bought a few of these new from a sympathetic dealer about five years back. If you still need another for your other reg, PM me with your address and I'll toss one in the mail. Ps- I haven't been on scubaboard for many months, and this was the first thread I saw. It kinda warms...

    Port Douglas "Non-Beginner" diving?

Hi all, I had searched around on this topic prior to coming to Australia, but didn't find an answer to this question. I went out today on Posideon from Port Douglas, and the diving was fine, though I was a little disappointed that they seem to treat all the divers as Beginners. Are there any...

    Save a dive kit

I carry a small bicycle innertube patch kit, for repairing latex seals. I did a two day liveaboard with three patches on my neck seal. :shocked2:

    DIY pressure pot alternatives

I went down the corny keg route, and thought it worked well: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/do-yourself-diy/363484-cornelius-keg-pressure-pot.html

    Other Divers with Diabetes

Hey Wetsuit 4 life, I have been diving with Type 1 for about 7 years now. I carry two powerbar gel packs with me on a bolt snap in my drysuit pocket, and practice using them underwater. I have been thinking lately to switch to icing tubes to have something more durable. Your post reads like...

    New BARE SB Drysuit

I'm sitting here looking at the stripes, thinking that they must be some sort of nod to the movie Tron. :) I'd like to see the suit with pockets attached, without suspenders, and how much droop there would be with 1-2 lbs placed in each pocket. The flexibility and unobtrusiveness of the...

10W LED light with Delrin canister

Thank you. The O-ring makes the seal from the glass to the Delrin lighthead. The glass is retained by the spiral retaining ring. The spiral rings are a nice way to keep the glass from coming out, without requiring another separate piece to be turned on the lathe. The spiral rings give a very...

10W LED light with Delrin canister

Yes, that is exactly correct. I need to post a photo of the reflector as it comes out of the bag vs after the modifications that are described (removing the lip, boring out the hole to 3/8", and removing all of the screw thread on the bottom).

10W LED light with Delrin canister

Totally agree!!! It was doable on my 8x14", but needed to drill&bore at 3 different depths. At 7x12", you are probably looking at 4 different depths at a minimum.

10W LED light with Delrin canister

It looks like there is a steadyrest on that URL, but it doesn't say what the maximum diameter is. I bought a steady rest for my lathe, but didn't use it because it was maring the outside of the cansiter too much. It sounds like you have only a 3-jaw chuck, correct? My 3 jaw 75mm chuck...

    Best scuba diving mag?

The sad thing is that there aren't any really good monthly magazines here in the US. Sport Diver and Scuba Diving tend to repeat themselves if you subscribe for more than a year, and they always struck me as selling stuff to newly minted divers, without having a lot of more advanced material...

10W LED light with Delrin canister

Hi edw, What is the size of your lathe? Mine is a Harbor Freight 8x12" (equivalent of 200x450mm, ~100 kilos). There are a lot of 7" mini-lathes here in the US, and I would think that it would be fairly tricky to make a canister on one of those lathes. On my lathe, I swapped out the 3-jaw...

    DIY wrist mount computer sleeve

What kind of computer? If it is a kind that DSS makes a bungee boot for, I highly recommend buying one. Your computer will always be securely mounted, and getting it on and off takes seconds, with no buckles or messing around: https://www.deepseasupply.com/index.php?category=instruments

Near perfect waterproof bag for binder style divelog

I have to admit that for most boat dives I leave my dive log in the car, and just take a few loose sheets in my dry bag. But this is great for general storage and shore dives.

Near perfect waterproof bag for binder style divelog

I have a binder style dive log book, and I've always wanted a well fitting waterproof bag for it. I've used Ziploc bags for many years, but they tend to be overly large, and not that durable. Yesterday I stumbled onto Coghlan's Waterproof Pouch, #8417 (10 1/2" by 13 1/2") at the local...
