    Cairns, Port Douglas or Broome?

There are some great 3 and 4 day liveaboards out of Port Douglas and Cairns. If you are lucky you can get some great deals on standby. If you choose to do day trips, the diving is better out of Port Douglas. Most of the boats however take around 80 to 100 people, tho not all of these will be...

    Aqualung rep

To give you an idea of how well Aquanaut (Aqualung) Australia look after their dealers.......We recently received a letter stating that in an effort to combat internet sales, all Aqualung dealers were required to stock x amount of a certain product (cameras in this case). If this amount was not...

    Apeks mouthpieces....where?

Thanks Kern. Aquanuts RRP is about AU$25 for the standard and approx. AU$45 for a comfo-bite. If I can find it cheaper from OS then I'm prepared to do that. Especially as I'm looking for 10 of them and I prefer the comfo-bite one's. Cheers

    Apeks mouthpieces....where?

Does anyone know a source for Apeks mouthpieces other than Aquanaut/Aqualung? I can get them but I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay the prices Aquanuts charge in Australia? Cheers

    PADI stores using EVE 5

How many of you with PADI stores are using EVE 5? Does anyone else using it agree that it's the worst system around? I'm finding it totally un-user friendly. Support for it is basically non-existant in Australia. It's actually increasing our workload, not reducing it. And PADI expect us to...

    Transpac stability with doubles

Ok, with some mucking trial and error and a few of Jerry's suggestions I have been able to finally get the stability I was looking for out of my Transpac. I've found it to be as stable as the plate I was comparing it against. For those of you who have TP's and have had some stability issues...

    Transpac stability with doubles

I prefer my transpac over a BP but when diving it with doubles I find it a little unstable compared to a BP. I am using the stab plates and I am having the same issues whether it's diving twin steel 55's, Ali 95's or Steel 104's. The tanks tend to shift side to side on my back if I turn to look...

Port Douglas for a week in August?

Hi John Port Douglas is fantastic in winter. Water temps will be around the low to mid 20-s (degrees that is...) and the vis is pretty good at the moment. As for boats I'd suggest Poseidon Cruises http://www.poseidon-cruises.com.au/ They go to the outer Agincourt Reef for day trips. They...

    swapping HID for halogen??

thanks for all the input and opinions everyone. i've decided to have the best of both worlds. my wife bought me a new Sartek HID for a fraction of what HID's cost out here in Australia and i've got my Nocturnal SL50 for general diving. now that i've been able to source HID bulbs for somewhat...
