On the age issue...at 57 I KNOW my condition and ability to perform better than the 20 something year old dive guide who thinks he/she knows whats best for me...I learned long ago to dive within my limits and ability...Do you want my business or should I go elsewhere ?

Experience is the best teacher...dive as much as you can , in as many different situations as you can , with as many different divers as you can and most importantly...at your own pace . Stay comfortable and keep it fun .

Dave , dont have much experience with cold-water diving in lakes but if you get the chance try Cape Ann ( Rockport ) MA. The ocean is a balmy 38-42 and the marine life is really bustling when it's this time of the year . Either way , good diving to ya...

Anyone know if they were diving with a local dive shop or out of a private boat ? Seem kind of foolish diving under those condition's...Easy for me to say , I was'nt there BUT...:confused:

A friend has one and loves it . Very well made and practical . Really set up for Tech diving but still good enough for everyday diving as well .

Just got the Photic at the beginning of this year . Used it for 2 weeks of diving in the Keys and Costa Rica . Found it to be very solid and well balanced . BC's are a very personnal piece of equiptment so try to check one out in person if you can .

I went ahead and ordered the Poseidon fins and want to say I'm very happy with them . A lot of features from other fins all wrapped up in one package . Got them for $85. and think it's a good deal . Check them out if you get a chance....

You could try Comet Pond in Hubbardston . A lot of Open Water classes go there for the visibility and access...

Does anyone have a short-cut(plain english) way to figure out the gas %'s ? i.e. best gas for such and such feet/minutes...? Too many formula's....:confused:
