I use the set up partly due to me being a PSD and we use long hoses and I like the necklace to keep the regs out of the mud and muck on the bottom. I got used to that set up and use it for my rec dives.

Yep, now to move onto ERDI....

Could be a regional thing... From what I was told by my instructor/owner of LDS they wanted to focus mainly on West Marine stores which are a Boating/fishing store in FL (not sure about elsewhere) they have a so called "Flagship" store nearby and they will be doing SSI/Mares sales out of it.

Within a few weeks of me obtaining Diver Control Specialist Status with my LDS SSI was bought out by Mares and the LDS owner/instructor stated he was told nothing would change..... several weeks later SSI Rep. came into store and yank his SSI Franchise which left me a DIvce Con with out a store...

So this happened a few days ago....

I have one on my first stage, not so much for redundancy, but that I don't always use my AI Computer. If I'm doing pool work assisting as a DM I don't want the up/down quick dives logged on computer.

Thanks Resqdivemedic.... I went to SDI website and see that I can do a crossover but only Instr. to Instr or AI to AI. It doesn't look like I can do an SDI AI go to ERDI Instr I have to be a SDI first. But that's OK, I agree getting a PADI instr doing the whole IDC is not what I want to do. SDI...

Not monday morning QB'ing, but it sounds like the BW let the boat drift and wasn't where he was supposed to be upon the diver surfacing, or the diver got turned around and didn't surface in the right spot. Either way, glad it had this outcome!!!
